Summary: There is high uncertainty regarding the climate change impacts on the economies and water-dependent sectors of the Nile region. Despite this, cooperative and adaptive management of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam can lead to economic and water management benefits for Ethiopia, Sudan, and Egypt.

Summary: Micro-ultrasound and PSMA-PET are increasingly used for prostate cancer imaging, showing high sensitivity and specificity. While data are limited, they may have emerging roles in cancer diagnosis in select localized cases and in men considering active surveillance with indications of more aggressive disease.

Summary: Anthropogenic activities not only lead to obvious habitat loss, but also to potential direct and indirect impacts on animals caused by disturbances such as artificial light, noise, dust, vibrations, and visual disturbances. These so-called "enigmatic impacts" have been shown to have significant disruptive effects on animal populations.

Summary: This study suggests that active surveillance in the general population may not be as rigorous as demonstrated in previous trials, leading to patients missing important monitoring tests. More real-world studies on active surveillance are needed to ensure its effectiveness in practice.

Summary: Pediatric endocrinology heavily relies on hormone stimulation tests, but the study found that using single basal hormone concentrations could potentially save up to half of the tests and significant costs. By analyzing the distribution and prevalence of endocrine stimulation tests, the study suggests that basal hormone determinations could help optimize resources and reduce unnecessary tests in pediatric patients.

Summary: Participatory research with urban, Black youth reveals that their perceptions of cannabis use are misaligned with researchers' concepts. Input from youth with lived experience is crucial for understanding the scope of youth cannabis use and ensuring survey tools accurately capture their usage patterns.

Summary: For Grade Group 2 prostate cancer patients, active surveillance is a viable initial management option that offers benefits by maintaining patients' current quality of life and avoiding treatment side effects. In the modern era of active surveillance, urologists have tools to better stage and risk stratify patients, as well as gain insights into the biologic potential of their prostate cancer.

Summary: This article presents a stochastic programming approach that selects a set of strategies for active surveillance of prostate cancer based on patients' disease risks. The approach maximizes a weighted reward function to generate strategies that vary in intensity according to patient disease risk.

Summary: Climate change affects fisheries in different ways, but fisheries and climate change are regulated by different international management mechanisms, posing challenges to the current fisheries management system. This paper discusses the introduction of international law to better manage fisheries in response to issues arising from climate change and emphasizes the importance of incorporating relevant principles into future fisheries regulations by examining existing bilateral fishery agreements.

Summary: Over the last decade, metabolic-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) has emerged as a significant global public health concern, becoming the most common cause of chronic liver disease in many countries. Meanwhile, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) mortality rates are increasing, with liver tumors now being the third leading cause of cancer-related death worldwide. With the decline in HCC burden related to viral hepatitis, the prevalence of MAFLD-related HCC is rapidly rising. However, there are still uncertainties regarding the cost-effectiveness and guidelines for HCC surveillance in MAFLD patients. This review aims to address these issues and provide evidence for defining screening criteria for HCC in MAFLD.

Summary: The oncologic safety of active surveillance in patients with grade group 2 prostate cancer is debated. Surgery is associated with better disease control and survival compared to expectant management, and patients on active surveillance have a higher risk of disease progression and treatment.

Summary: This study retrospectively evaluated 2002 patients with positive sputum cultures, finding that pneumonia caused by S. maltophilia is rare. The S. maltophilia pneumonia group had a significantly lower median age compared to the non-S. maltophilia pneumonia group, and had higher SOFA scores.

Summary: The study evaluated the predictive value of the PRECISE scoring system in prostate cancer patients on active surveillance, showing good overall performance with high sensitivity, specificity, and negative predictive value. Prostate-specific antigen density, Likert lesion score, and index lesion size were significant baseline predictors of disease progression.
