Summary: The findings suggest that single daily dosing of psychotropic drugs can be clinically adopted regardless of the type of medication in patients with psychiatric disorders, showing no significant difference in study discontinuation, lack of efficacy, adverse events, or changes in psychopathology between single daily dosing and multiple daily dosing regimens. However, single daily dosing did show significant differences in anxiety and sleepiness compared to multiple daily dosing.

Summary: The coating modification of single-crystal materials was investigated to enhance their electrochemical properties by suppressing electrode/electrolyte side reactions. A Sm2O3 coating was applied to the surface of the commercial LiNi0.6Co0.1Mn0.3O2 base material. The electrochemical performance of the Sm2O3-coated NCM613 single-crystal material was significantly improved, demonstrating higher capacity retention and diffusion kinetics of lithium ions compared to the uncoated material.

Summary: Metastatic breast cancer patients often experience treatment-related side effects, leading to missed treatments and emergency visits. To help patients tolerate treatment, oncologists may decrease initial and/or subsequent doses. The majority of oncologists reject the premise that a higher dose is always superior and are willing to discuss individualized dosing with patients.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of recipient and donor gene polymorphisms on tacrolimus pharmacokinetics after switching to once-daily dosing. The results showed that recipient CYP3A5 polymorphism and donor ABCC2 1249G>A polymorphism affected tacrolimus metabolism. Therefore, dose adjustment based on these polymorphisms should be considered to maintain therapeutic efficacy when switching to once-daily dosing.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of two dosing regimens of oral iron on iron status and hematological parameters in CKD patients. The results showed no significant difference in TSAT changes between the groups, but the OD group had a smaller increase in serum ferritin and an increase in MCHC compared to the BD group.

Summary: A one-step side-by-side 3D printing method is proposed for constructing linear lithium-, sodium-, and zinc-ion full batteries with high electrochemical performance. The battery component inks exhibit shear thinning characteristics and can be printed on various substrates. This approach provides a general strategy for designing high-performance linear full batteries.

Summary: This retrospective chart review aimed to compare the impact of once-daily versus multiple-daily dosing of buprenorphine/naloxone on urine drug screens (UDS) and relapse rates in patients with opioid use disorder (OUD). The results showed that once-daily dosing was associated with a higher rate of negative UDS and fewer relapses compared to multiple-daily dosing. However, there were no significant differences between the two groups in terms of relapse time, treatment adherence, or treatment retention.

Summary: In this study, a physiologically-based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) model was used as a tool for precision dosing to predict the biological exposure of ceftriaxone in healthy and chronic kidney disease patients. The model successfully described the pharmacokinetic behavior of ceftriaxone in both populations and suggested dose adjustments for patients with renal impairment.

Summary: This study aimed to compare the effectiveness and safety of clozapine once- vs. multiple-daily dosing. The results showed that patients in the multiple-daily dosing group had more severe clinical symptoms, a higher risk of adverse drug reactions, higher doses of clozapine, and more frequent use of other antipsychotics, benzodiazepines, anticholinergics, and laxatives. The quality of the studies was mostly good.

Summary: Improvement and harmonization of European clinical pharmacology and therapeutics (CPT) education is urgently needed. A survey of CPT teachers in European medical schools found that digital educational resources, including e-learning, simulators, virtual patients, and serious games, are widely used. However, the majority of these resources are not free or open, highlighting the need for more information on why teachers are not sharing their educational materials.

Summary: The study found that European CPT teachers perceived opportunities in using and creating open educational resources, but also faced challenges such as language barriers, local differences, lack of time, technological issues, difficulties with quality management, and copyright restrictions. Practical solutions discussed include a peer review system, clear indexing, and use of copyright licenses that permit adaptation of resources.

Summary: The study evaluates the cost-effectiveness of antihypertensives, with diuretics being the most cost-effective treatment option for arterial hypertension. Beta-blockers, while resulting in additional QALYs, also incur additional costs and may not be recommended as a first-line treatment option based on the results of this study.
