Summary: This multicenter study demonstrates that noninfectious surgical thoracic aortitis patients have a high risk of developing vascular complications within 10 years, and identifies specific characteristics that can help identify those at highest risk for subsequent vascular interventions.

Summary: In this study, a dual-drug nanocomposite formulation was developed for the treatment of ocular vascular diseases. The formulation, CBC-MCC@hMSN(SM) complex, effectively suppressed angiogenesis and inflammatory responses both in vitro and in vivo. A single intraocular injection of this complex showed sustained efficacy for up to 6 months in treating diabetes-induced retinal vascular dysfunction and choroidal neovascularization.

Summary: In this study, an oral nanoinhibitor was designed to target intestinal lesions and release active sites and drugs in response to reactive oxygen species (ROS), thereby reducing inflammation and improving intestinal barrier function. It also decreased inflammatory cytokine levels and increased gut microbiota diversity in mice with colitis.

Summary: This study reports the long-term outcomes of uveitis-associated optic disc and epiretinal neovascularization treated with immunomodulatory therapy alone, showing successful resolution of uveitic neovascularization without recurrence.

Summary: This study compared the visual outcomes and recurrence rates of eyes with noninfectious inflammatory choroidal neovascularization (CNV) treated with or without anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) injections and immunosuppression. The study found that eyes receiving early anti-VEGF injections achieved better visual outcomes and had a reduced risk of CNV recurrence.

Summary: In this study, multifunctional hydrogel eye drops were developed for the synergistic treatment of uveitis. These eye drops offer improved ocular bioavailability and unexpected anti-inflammatory efficacy. By mitigating the ophthalmic inflammatory reaction and suppressing inflammatory cytokines, the eye drops demonstrated superior efficacy in treating endotoxin-induced uveitis.

Summary: Patients with inflammatory CNV treated with anti-VEGF injections showed good overall visual outcome, but higher rates of recurrence over time. Baseline BCVA and RPEA after treatment are significant predictors for visual outcome, while the presence of intraretinal HRF after anti-VEGF treatment suggests a potential risk of recurrence.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the long-term visual acuity outcomes of cataract surgery in patients with inflammatory eye disease. The results showed that both adult and pediatric patients with uveitis experienced improved visual acuity following cataract surgery, and this improvement was maintained for at least 5 years.

Summary: This study investigated the acute and long-term ocular effects of MIS-C in children. Conjunctivitis, punctuate epitheliopathy, and optic disc oedema were commonly observed in the acute phase, but these symptoms improved at the six-month follow-up. The study also found that patients with subconjunctival haemorrhage had more severe clinical symptoms and required intensive care.

Summary: This study evaluates the effect of ablative therapies in patients with oligometastases over a long-term randomized period. The results indicate that Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy (SABR) can significantly improve overall survival and progression-free survival without new major toxicity signals during extended follow-up.

Summary: Antiproliferative chemotherapeutic agents show promise for treating inflammatory arthritis, but face limitations in clinical application due to high systemic toxicity and low joint bioavailability. A new intra-articular drug delivery system combining hyaluronic acid hydrogels and drug nanocrystals offers a potential solution for localized and sustained delivery of camptothecin, with positive results shown in rat models of collagen-induced arthritis.

Summary: This study reported three cases of patients with chronic ocular surface inflammatory disease who developed CMV corneal endotheliitis during treatment with immunosuppressants and steroids. The patients developed symptoms between 8 and 14 months into treatment, including endothelial inflammation and irreversible mydriasis. However, with early diagnosis and appropriate interventions, including surgical procedures and medication, the patients' vision was preserved to a certain extent.
