Summary: The study found significant variation in Press Ganey scores among different colorectal disease diagnoses, with patients with neoplasia reporting higher overall satisfaction. Adjustment for disease condition is important when assessing patient satisfaction and quality indicators for reimbursement. The study adds evidence of bias in these satisfaction scores.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the cumulative incidence of postcolonoscopy colorectal cancer (PCCRC) in Germany according to the physician's polyp detection rate (PDR). The study found a substantially increased PCCRC risk in persons examined by physicians with a low PDR, regardless of the baseline findings. This highlights the importance of high-quality colonoscopy in preventing colorectal cancer incidence.

Summary: The incidence of colorectal cancer is increasing among younger adults. This study analyzed data from a national screening colonoscopy registry in Austria to examine the prevalence of precursor lesions and the incidence of colorectal cancer in different age groups. The results showed an increase in the prevalence of adenomas and advanced adenomas in all age groups, while the incidence of colorectal cancer decreased among individuals older than 50 years.

Summary: This study developed and validated a patient-reported experience measure (PREM) called PRO-STEP to assess the tolerability of endoscopic procedures using conscious sedation. Results showed that colonoscopy was recalled as the least tolerable procedure, and higher use of midazolam during colonoscopy was inversely associated with higher intraprocedural awareness scores. Further research should focus on the performance characteristics of PRO-STEP in predicting adverse events.

Summary: In a FIT-based screening program, there is an inverse association between ADR and the risk of PCCRC, highlighting the importance of monitoring colonoscopy quality. Increasing endoscopists' ADR can significantly reduce the risk of PCCRC.

Summary: This study evaluates the results of medical-guideline-derived quality indicators for cervical cancer and ovarian cancer, examines the development of indicator implementation over time, and identifies improvement measures. The results show that process-organization indicators have a high degree of application and a significant impact on the quality of care. Treatment-procedures indicators reach a plateau where the guideline is known, and surgical interventions indicators fluctuate.

Summary: This study conducted a large-scale survey on the implementation of radiotherapy quality indicators (QIs) and their relationship with institutional background. The results revealed low implementation rates for certain QIs, such as the implementation of an error reporting system and the establishment of a quality assurance department. It was also found that the implementation rate of QIs was positively correlated with the scale of the institution, and institutions with advanced treatment capabilities and a quality assurance department had significantly higher achievement rates for all QIs.

Summary: A retrospective cohort study of individuals undergoing post-polypectomy surveillance in the English Bowel Cancer Screening Programme found low levels of colorectal cancer in those undergoing surveillance and low advanced adenoma yield in most subgroups. Less intensive surveillance in some subgroups is warranted, and surveillance may be avoided in those with a single large adenoma.

Summary: The study found that increasing driving distance was negatively associated with bowel preparation quality, but not with adenoma detection. Patients who traveled 30 miles or less to their colonoscopy site had the highest likelihood of adequate bowel preparation.

Summary: This retrospective case-control study examined the association between biopsy of non-tumor sites after colorectal cancer (CRC) biopsy and the risk of metachronous CRC. The study found no significant association between biopsy of non-tumor sites after CRC biopsy and the risk of metachronous CRC.

Summary: This study conducted a retrospective analysis of 7081 cases of cervical cancer in a Chinese single center. The aim was to evaluate the clinical practice based on quality indicators proposed by the European Society of Gynecological Oncology (ESGO). The study found that patients in the high-volume group had better surgical outcomes and fewer complications compared to the low-volume group. However, there is still room for improvement in reaching the targets of some quality indicators.

Summary: The study suggests that in LS carriers, complete colonoscopies with adequate bowel preparation and chromoendoscopy use improve adenoma detection, while surveillance intervals of less than 3 years are associated with a reduction in PCCRC incidence. High-quality colonoscopy surveillance is crucial for preventing CRC in LS.
