Cyclocondensation of 2-aminothiophenol and aryl/heteryl aldehydes has been carried using biomimetic catalyst, beta-Cyclodextrin in water and obtained 2-aryl/heteryl benzothiazoles with better to excellent yields. This bionnimetic catalyzed route is simple, economic, and environmentally benign.
