Motivation and satisfaction in GP training: a UK cross-sectional survey

Over 2000 GP trainees and GPs in their first 5 years of qualification responded to a survey which showed high levels of satisfaction with a career in general practice (considerably higher than an earlier study in 2000) and reported a range of motivating factors, of which a good salary was identified by less than 10%
