Summary: This study evaluated the effect of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) versus self-monitored blood glucose (SMGB) in gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) with hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c). The results showed that for GDM patients with HbA1c<6%, regular self-monitored blood glucose is a more economical method and can achieve similar glycemic control as CGM, while CGM is beneficial for ideal gestational weight gain (GWG).

Summary: This study aimed to investigate whether health education and lifestyle management delivered through a WeChat group chat was more effective in controlling blood glucose in women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) compared to standard clinical prenatal care. The results showed that using WeChat for health education and lifestyle intervention tended to be more effective for blood glucose control than standard clinical prenatal care alone.

Summary: This study found that consumption of 15g of ground raw golden flaxseed can reduce the 2-hour postprandial glycemic response in men with T2DM. Although flaxseed does not affect peak glucose time, palatability, and taste parameters, it effectively lowers the rise in peak glucose levels and the AUC glycemic response within two hours.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of remote intervention for glycemic control in adults with type 1 diabetes using flash glucose monitoring (FGM). The study found that FGM significantly improved glycemic control, especially in terms of time in range (TIR) and hyperglycemia. Ongoing personalized education during FGM use further improved glycemic control and treatment satisfaction.

Summary: The diagnosis and criteria for gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) remain controversial within the scientific and medical community. Some advocate for the adoption of the IADPSG criteria, while concerns exist regarding the increase in diagnoses and impact on healthcare resources. The limitations of the IADPSG consensus and the need for treatment response-based diagnostic criteria are questioned in the perspective presented.

Summary: The study found that after 24 weeks of treatment, the change in glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA(1c)) was -0.93% in the SZ-A group and -0.87% in the acarbose group, with no significant difference between the two groups. The incidence of treatment-related adverse events (TAEs) and gastrointestinal disorders (GDs) was significantly lower in the SZ-A group than the acarbose group.

Summary: The study aimed to establish reference values for the external genitalia of full-term and pre-term female newborns. The mean clitoral length at day 3 of life was 3.69 +/- 1.53 mm, with a threshold for clitoromegaly defined as >6.5 mm and further investigations recommended for values >= 8 mm. An anogenital ratio >0.6 was considered a sign of virilisation.

Summary: The study aims to reduce apnoeic episodes in premature newborns through controlled odorant stimulation added to current pharmacological treatments. A randomized open-label Latin-square trial will involve 60 preterm neonates receiving different odorant stimulations, with statistical analysis comparing the incidence of apnoeic episodes before and after the stimulation. Ethical approval has been obtained, and the results will be disseminated through scientific meetings, peer-reviewed journals, and public websites.
