Summary: This study investigates the association between bariatric center designation and clinical outcomes for patients requiring repeat abdominal surgery after prior bariatric surgery. The study finds that undergoing repeat abdominal surgery at nonbariatric centers is not associated with a higher proportion of complications or mortality. Complex hernia surgery may be the most appropriate for referral.

Summary: Cervical spinal cord injury causing tetraplegia is highly disabling and restoring upper extremity function is considered a priority. Early nerve transfer procedures and traditional tendon transfers need to be considered for surgical interventions. The study emphasizes the need for reevaluation of clinical assessment and selection processes due to the complex challenges faced by individuals with spinal cord injuries.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the differences in perioperative and long-term mortality rates between women and men who underwent repair for ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm (rAAA). The study found that women had higher mortality rates during hospitalization and at 8-year follow-up, and this difference was observed in both endovascular and open repair. Factors associated with long-term mortality included older age and chronic kidney disease.
