Summary: A new multistep, hierarchical data extraction algorithm was developed to collect raw data from .pdf reports and text files for ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM). The algorithm successfully extracted 97% of the data automatically, with manual checks confirming high accuracy of the extracted data. The development of the algorithm facilitated effective data collection for ABPM and minimized manual work.

Summary: This study aimed to extract qualitative and quantitative information about the waterborne pathogen Legionella from scientific publications using Deep Learning and Natural Language Processing techniques. The results showed that the model effectively extracted the characteristics with high precision, recall, and F-score. The AI extraction yielded comparable results to manual information extraction, demonstrating its reliability. This research lays the groundwork for using AI to collect meaningful information on pathogen characteristics from environmental microbiology publications.

Summary: The study aims to develop a non-annotated Bayes-based algorithm for extracting useful clinical events from medical data. The algorithm uses two-itemset rules derived from subsets of MIMIC and CMS LDS datasets to construct clinical event sequence order. Medical experts rated the algorithm's rules higher than random Apriori rules, indicating its ability to find correct clinical event stories.

Summary: This study introduces a new method for sounding generalization (SGMST) that aims to maintain submarine topography while following other generalization rules. By developing a new importance values index to measure the significance of soundings, the effectiveness of the method is verified through experiments. The results show advantages of the SGMST approach in meeting sounding generalization requirements and depicting undersea surface accurately.

Summary: Respiratory rate monitoring is crucial for individuals with respiratory diseases, especially those living alone, as sudden changes in respiratory rate may indicate severe illness. This study presents a novel methodology using an automatic feature extraction algorithm integrated with a robust feature selection technique to estimate respiratory rate and uncertainty. The proposed methodology proves superior to conventional algorithms in terms of accuracy and resource-saving.

Summary: This study reviewed high-qualified scientific literature of sentiment analysis (SA) in education and discussed future research prospects. The results indicated that most studies focused on higher education with smaller datasets. SA was actively used in the learning domain of engineering and technology, with teachers/educators being the primary stakeholders. Hybrid approaches were predominant in SA research, and sentiment categories in education were refined. Four major research topics were identified, including designing SA methods/systems, investigating learners' satisfaction/attitude/concerned topics, evaluating teachers' teaching performance, and examining the relationship among sentiment, behavior, performance, and achievement. Several implications and research issues for SA in education research were provided.

Summary: This study reviewed literature on virtual-agent-based language learning research from 2012 to 2022 and examined various dimensions such as publication trends, country and regional distribution, participants, research methodology, and role of virtual agents. The study found that researchers were particularly concerned about learning effectiveness, memory performance, social presence, learning experience, and motivation. Additionally, the lack of systematic application of virtual agents in language learning was identified as a limitation.
