Summary: This study evaluated the safety and feasibility of postoperative hypofractionated radiation therapy to the prostate bed. The results showed acceptable genitourinary and gastrointestinal toxicity profiles in the short to medium term, but further long-term follow-up and large-scale randomized trials are still necessary.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the prognosis of glioma patients with different molecular subtypes treated with IMRT. The results showed that the 1-year PFS of patients with IDH mutation was better than IDH wild-type patients. Subgroup analysis revealed that patients with IDH mutation and 1p/19q codeletion or noncodeletion had longer 1-year PFS. Patients with IDH mutation and MGMT methylation had the best prognosis.

Summary: This study reports the outcomes of 163 Stage III NSCLC patients treated with chemoradiation, comparing the effects of intensity-modulated proton therapy (IMPT) and intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT). The findings indicate that IMPT can reduce the risk of pneumonitis and cardiac events without compromising tumor control.

Summary: In patients with limited-stage small-cell lung cancer, a high dose of twice-daily thoracic radiotherapy (TRT) combined with concurrent chemotherapy using the simultaneous integrated boost IMRT (SIB-IMRT) approach may improve progression-free survival (PFS) without increasing toxicities. However, this improvement in PFS did not result in significant advantages in overall survival (OS).

Summary: This study compared coplanar and noncoplanar intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) treatment planning for tongue cancer patients. Non-coplanar field radiotherapy was found to effectively reduce exposure dose to the lip and buccal mucosa, leading to significantly better results in terms of radiation-related toxicity of the lip and cheek membrane. Such application of noncoplanar treatment plans demonstrates good clinical significance and should be promoted.

Summary: The study found that UV is negatively associated with COVID-19 transmission, particularly in community outbreaks, while O-3 is positively associated with COVID-19 in institutional outbreaks. The setting of infection should be strongly considered in future research. UV and O-3 may help explain some of the seasonal behavior of COVID-19.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the association between rehabilitation intensity and Functional Independence Measure (FIM) change in stroke patients. The results showed a positive correlation between rehabilitation intensity and improvement in functional independence, but the incremental benefit diminished after reaching 95 minutes/day. Higher rehabilitation intensity was also associated with improvements in motor and cognitive function, rehabilitation effectiveness, 90-day home time, and discharge to preadmission setting.

Summary: The study compared the toxicity profiles of patients treated with intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and 3D conformal radiotherapy (3D-CRT) for tumors of the supraglottic regions, finding that IMRT had lower toxicity rates and better treatment outcomes, especially in preserving long-term laryngeal and swallowing functions for patients.

Summary: This study analyzed the long-term outcomes of patients with brain metastases who received postoperative whole-brain radiotherapy (WBRT) or stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS). The results showed that SRS was associated with less cognitive deterioration compared to WBRT. However, WBRT showed better intracranial tumor control. Assessing cognitive function is important in understanding the treatment effects for brain metastases patients.

Summary: In a clinical trial, baseline biomarkers associated with cognitive impairment after radiotherapy for brain metastasis were investigated. Low serum levels of ApoJ, ApoE, or ApoA proteins, as well as higher amyloid beta levels, were associated with neurocognitive decline at 3 months after SRS. Low ApoJ levels were associated with decline after WBRT.

Summary: Hypofractionated stereotactic radiotherapy (hSRT) is effective for treating low-grade intracranial meningiomas (ICMs) with acceptable long-term toxicity and radionecrosis rates, making it a good alternative to single-fraction stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) for patients not ideal candidates for SRS.
