Summary: Untreated mental health and substance use disorders result in significant individual suffering and economic burden. Psychiatric morbidity is high in primary and secondary medical care. Patients with mental disorders have lower life expectancy and are at a higher risk of suicide. Despite the existence of effective treatments, underfunding, poor integration of services, lack of trained professionals, and stigma hinder access to effective treatments.

Summary: Extensive diagnostic delays and deferred treatment significantly impact the quality of life for idiopathic inflammatory myopathy patients. In-depth subtyping of patients is necessary for appropriate disease management, requiring specialized evaluation of clinical and pathological features. Blood-based disease biomarkers, such as circulating cytokines, can offer complementary information for diagnosis, therapeutic response, and prognosis, potentially reducing the need for invasive muscle biopsies.

Summary: In recent years, the incidence of infertility has been increasing in China, leading to a more severe problem due to the country's aging population. Infertility patients face challenges in seeking medical diagnosis and treatment, mainly due to economic factors. Beijing has taken the lead in providing medical insurance for assisted reproductive technology, but there is still a market gap. More comprehensive policies are needed to regulate the market and improve the accessibility and affordability of infertility treatments.

Summary: Research on ambulance response times for EMS calls has been conducted for decades, primarily in developed countries. However, there is limited scientific research on this topic in Brazil, a developing country, which mainly focuses on cities with a population of over one million. This highlights the need to extend research to small and medium-sized cities.

Summary: Studies have shown that 1 in 10 adults with chronic kidney disease has a monogenic form of the disease, but genetic services are limited in adult nephrology. To increase access to genetic services and testing for adults with kidney disease, an adult Kidney Genetics Clinic was established at a large urban medical center. With the use of telemedicine, genetic services reached a diverse geographic and patient population. Genetic diagnosis had implications for medical management, family member testing, and eligibility for clinical trials.

Summary: Using an efficient cost-benefit analysis framework and optimization model is crucial for proper planning of hydropower projects. The implementation of hydropower has diverse effects on the environment, which undermine the provision of ecosystem services. However, the economic analysis and planning of hydropower projects often overlook the changes in ecosystem services. This study aims to incorporate ecosystem services into project optimization models and decision-making, through quantifying environmental effects and developing a comprehensive simulation-optimization model.

Summary: This paper introduces two quality measures, Graph Unimodality and Attribute Unimodality, along with their linear combination Compactness, for optimizing local clustering. LOCLU detects local clusters concentrated in the region of interest, providing efficient information flow and displaying unimodal data distribution in the designated attribute subspace.

Summary: The use of genomic data in insect conservation practice is not yet widespread. This study focuses on butterflies and explores the strengths, limitations, and gaps between population genomics and insect conservation management. The study highlights the potential of genomic methods for assessing hidden diversity, tracking population trends, and discovering adaptive genetic variation. Establishing partnerships between researchers and practitioners is crucial, and reporting conservation actions guided by genomic data is urgent for constructive feedback and standardized methodologies to be established.

Summary: This study found variations in patterns of visits to rehabilitation and medical professionals among ambulatory young people with CP living in England. Physiotherapists were the most commonly used professionals, followed by dentists, general practitioners, occupational therapists, and orthopaedic surgeons. The overall proportion of young people using services was low, which may support the reorganization of services to maximize benefits to young people with CP.

Summary: The emissions reduction pledges made under the 2015 Paris Agreement reflect the global commitment to combat climate change, with blue carbon habitats playing a crucial role in mitigating global carbon emissions. Integrating blue carbon sequestration benefits into sub-national climate policies can provide a model for future approaches to negative emissions technologies, potentially enhancing the success of the Paris Agreement and science-based decarbonization efforts by mid-century.
