Summary: This study assessed the effect of Vulgarin, obtained from Artemisia judaica, on the antidiabetic potential of glibenclamide using streptozotocin to induce diabetes. The combination treatment of glibenclamide and Vulgarin showed better glycemic improvement in diabetic rats compared to glibenclamide alone, through its antioxidant effect and modulation of gene expression in the liver.

Summary: The study investigated the antidiabetic and hypolipidemic effects of Leptopus cordifolius leaves in alloxan-induced diabetic mice. The results showed that the methanolic extract of L. cordifolius had significant antihyperglycemic effects at 150-250 mg/kg and significant hyperlipidemic activity at 250 mg/kg. Treatment for 15 days also led to a significant elevation of antioxidant enzymes. The GC-MS analysis identified 52 compounds in the extract, with 12 of them having reported antidiabetic activity.

Summary: Emerging evidence suggests a strong association between gut microbiota and cardiovascular metabolic functions. Cardiac diseases may alter the richness, diversity, and composition of the gut microbiome. Vitamin C plays an important role in cardiovascular diseases. In a study using a forced swim stress model in rats, cardiac remodeling was induced, resulting in dysbiosis. Treatment with high doses of Vitamin C showed positive outcomes on cardiac complications by modulating the gut microbiota.
