Summary: This retrospective study highlights the importance of surgery in local control of radiation-associated angiosarcoma of the breast and chest wall, and suggests that re-irradiation combined with localized hyperthermia could be a promising option to reduce radiation dose and side effects. It also stresses the need for further treatment options in this rare and challenging disease.

Summary: The study evaluates toxicity and oncological outcomes after re-irradiation in patients with locally advanced recurrent rectal cancer (RRC) and finds that re-irradiation is comparable to long-course CRT regarding toxicity and oncological outcomes. Patients in the long-course CRT group reported more skin toxicity after radiotherapy.

Summary: In patients who underwent surgical resection for primary and secondary MCWTs, chest wall resections were found to be feasible with good perioperative outcomes. The overall survival rate was significantly higher in patients with primary MCWTs compared to those with secondary MCWTs.

Summary: Breast re-irradiation (reRT) using external beam radiation is an increasingly popular salvage approach for recurrent or new primary breast cancer after breast-conserving surgery (BCS). However, there are differences in radiation technique, dose, and eligibility criteria among studies. Limited data is available on the efficacy and safety of external beam hypofractionation and accelerated partial-breast irradiation (APBI) regimens. This paper reviews existing data and highlights the need for a randomized controlled trial to better define patient selection for different reRT fractionation regimens.

Summary: Chest wall perforator flap (CWPF) reconstruction is a promising technique to reduce mastectomy rates without compromising function or aesthetics. However, there is a discrepancy between the perceived importance and availability of CWPF surgery, suggesting a need for standardized training and dissemination.

Summary: Breast/chest wall angiosarcomas are rare tumors with high recurrence rates and poor survival. Secondary angiosarcoma negatively impacts predicted breast cancer survival, and both primary and secondary patients have high recurrence rates. This study highlights the need for further research on the increased use of adjuvant radiotherapy.

Summary: This study compared mastectomy and conservative treatment (including lumpectomy with brachytherapy) for patients with a second breast event, and found no significant differences in terms of 5-year overall survival and cumulative incidence of a third breast event between the two treatment options.

Summary: This study evaluated the safety and efficacy of repeat breast conservation using a novel radiotherapy regimen as salvage therapy for recurrent breast cancer. With a median follow-up of 23.5 months, the study found excellent local control with low toxicity rates. Further research with longer follow-up in larger cohorts is needed to determine the long-term outcomes of this treatment approach.

Summary: This is a single arm prospective phase II study evaluating the efficacy and toxicity of re-irradiation in recurrent high grade glioma. The results showed that re-irradiation is a safe and feasible treatment option, with better outcomes in younger patients and those with grade 3 IDH mutated gliomas.

Summary: Optimal radiation target volumes for breast cancer patients with their first isolated chest wall recurrence (ICWR) after mastectomy are controversial. Analysis showed that surgery plus radiotherapy was associated with better survival rates, and chest wall plus regional nodal irradiation (RNI) is recommended for ICWR patients.

Summary: The study evaluated toxicities and clinical outcomes in breast cancer patients who underwent external beam re-irradiation for locoregional recurrence. The results showed that re-RT of the CW and/or regional LNs is feasible with acceptable rates of toxicity and low rates of isolated LRR.

Summary: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and efficacy of a combination of BEV and re-RT for the treatment of rGBM. The results showed that this combination therapy was safe, tolerable, and effective in rGBM patients. Additionally, gross total resection prior to re-RT and selective concurrent temozolomide further improved patient PFS and OS.

Summary: The study compared the safety, economic cost, duration of hospitalization, and psychological health between conventional and ambulatory endoscopic thyroidectomy through a chest-breast approach. The results showed that ambulatory ETCBA is as safe as conventional surgery, but has significant advantages in terms of economic cost and duration of hospitalization.

Summary: This study investigated the role of additional induction chemotherapy (IC) prior to re-irradiation in locally recurrent nasopharyngeal carcinoma (lrNPC). The results showed that additional IC prior to re-irradiation was associated with improved overall survival (OS) in the intermediate-risk group of lrNPC, while no significant difference was observed in the low-risk and high-risk groups.

Summary: The indication for radiation therapy of the primary prostate tumor in patients with synchronous distant metastases with low metastatic burden has been revised based on randomized evidence. The STAMPEDE trial showed a survival benefit of 8% after 3 years for patients treated with standard of care and additional radiotherapy of the primary tumor. The STOPCAP meta-analysis confirmed the benefit of local radiotherapy for up to 4 bone lesions.
