Summary: The study found that offspring born via Cesarean section (CS) exhibit anxiety-like and depression-like behaviors in adolescence and adulthood, with male offspring being more prone to depression and female offspring more likely to be anxious. Changes in key neurotransmitters in the prefrontal cortex may partly explain the association between CS and offspring's emotional symptoms, with CS-born offspring showing higher levels of DA and HVA and lower levels of 5-HT and 5-HIAA compared to vaginally delivered offspring, particularly in female offspring. Sex-specific effects of CS on offspring's emotional development were highlighted in the study.

Summary: The present study aimed to investigate the psychological factors affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, with a focus on anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder. The results showed that the general population is more anxious when confronted with the new virus compared to students. When controlling for health anxiety, high levels of anxiety symptoms and stress, and low levels of depression symptoms predicted anxiety for COVID-19. Maladaptive strategies explained the relationship between health anxiety and COVID-19-related anxiety.

Summary: The study found that there were differences in participants' emotion ratings between listening to music at home and in the laboratory, and cortisol levels were generally lower at home. However, the modulatory effects of music on cortisol levels were not different between the two environments.

Summary: This study aims to compare hysteroscopic findings with myometrial thickness and post-surgical outcomes in patients with Cesarean section scar defects (CSDs). The study found that CSDs can be categorized into different phenotypes based on hysteroscopic observations, including pale mucosae, cyst lesions, increased local vascularization, polypoid lesions, and serrated niches. However, these phenotypes were not correlated with the outcome of repair for CSDs.

Summary: The research found that higher physiological reactivity predicted greater experiential avoidance and was associated with lower subjective arousal in negatively-valenced conditions, especially when participants had to focus their attention on environmental rather than somatic stimuli. The discordance in emotional responses, linked to experiential avoidance in this study, may be used as an objective measure of experiential avoidance with research and clinical utility.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the prevalence and associated factors of preoperative anxiety among women undergoing elective cesarean delivery. The results showed a high prevalence of preoperative anxiety among women undergoing cesarean delivery. Factors such as coming from rural areas, being farmers, having no previous surgical or anesthetic history, and being primiparous were significantly associated with preoperative anxiety. Therefore, preoperative maternal counseling and anxiety reduction services should be prioritized, especially for women with these characteristics.

Summary: This study evaluated the effects of preoperative music therapy compared to premedication with midazolam on anxiety, sedation, and stress levels during stomatology surgery. The results showed that the music therapy group had lower anxiety levels and higher satisfaction compared to the control group. Therefore, preoperative music therapy can be used as a non-drug intervention for stomatology surgery.
