Summary: The study explores the use of homing peptides for precision delivery of diagnostic and therapeutic compounds to endometriotic lesions. Findings indicate that PL1 peptide can bind to endometriotic cells, showing potential for precision diagnosis and therapy through PL1-guided nanoparticles.

Summary: This study aimed to derive mature oocytes from murine preantral follicles cultured in a biomimetic ovary with a porcine scaffold using decellularization technology. The DNA content in the decell ovarian tissues was significantly lower than that in native tissues, but the integrity of the extracellular matrix (ECM) components was maintained. Hydrogels derived from decell porcine ovaries showed a complex fiber network and porous structure. Preantral follicles cultured in a biomimetic ovary with a decell porcine scaffold showed higher rates of antral follicle and mature oocytes development compared to other biomaterials.

Summary: The study showed an up-regulation of ACE2 expression in human ovulatory follicles after hCG administration, with higher expression in cumulus cells than in granulosa cells. The expression of ACE2 in primary hGLC cultures was increased by hCG and inhibited by RU486 and CORT125281.

Summary: This article reviews evidence showing that 13-NGF controls reproductive function in camelids and ruminants by acting in both the hypothalamus and the ovary. In the hypothalamus, 13-NGF may induce the release of GnRH by interacting with neurons or glial cells expressing receptors for 13-NGF. In the ovary, 13-NGF may promote the differentiation of follicular to luteal cells by modifying the steroidogenic profile of ovarian follicular cells.

Summary: The actions of beta-nerve growth factor (beta-NGF) on the neuroendocrine and reproductive system in camelids challenge classical views on reproductive function control. Beta-NGF triggers ovulation and promotes the development of functional corpora lutea in camelids by acting in both the hypothalamus and the ovary.

Summary: Endometriosis is a chronic disease that affects many women, but early diagnosis is difficult and it tends to recur. This article proposes the dual mechanism and single checkpoint theory for the development of endometriosis, and discusses new directions for prevention and treatment.

Summary: The study suggests that the thickness and density of ovarian tunica albuginea (TA) increase with aging in female-to-male transgender patients, possibly due to fibrotic changes underneath the layer caused by recurrent injury and repair events during ovulation. These changes may contribute to reduced oocyte quality and ovulation difficulties in older women.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate whether extending letrozole (LE) treatment duration could induce ovulation in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) who previously failed to ovulate after a 5-day regimen of 5 mg LE daily. The researchers found that extending LE treatment duration in a stepwise manner (2-step extended LE regimen) increased the ovulation rate without the occurrence of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome.

Summary: Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) are synthesized in the same pituitary cell, and their secretion pathways differ. The carboxy terminus heptapeptide of human LH-b subunit is a determinant for sorting in gonadotropes. When genetically fused to human FSH-b subunit, the rerouted FSH enters the LH secretory pathway and shows similar effectiveness as wild-type FSH. Rerouted FSH suppresses follicle atresia, enhances ovulations, and prolongs female reproductive life span.

Summary: Reproductive efficiency is important in pork production, and ovulation rate is a key factor affecting litter size. This study used rpFSH to increase the ovulation rate in pigs and identified key genes and lncRNAs associated with fertility using RNA-seq technology. The results showed that rpFSH treatment increased ovarian weight and mature follicles. The study also identified target genes and pathways related to prolactin receptor activity, mitophagy, and meiotic spindle.

Summary: Camelidae are induced ovulators whose ovulation is tightly regulated by multiple factors. Investigating the biological mechanisms related to follicular development, hormone secretion, and ovulation is crucial. This study identified candidate biomarkers in the ovaries of Bactrian camels after seminal plasma-induced ovulation, shedding light on the molecular pathways involved in induced ovulation. The findings suggest potential proteins for further research on the molecular mechanisms of ovulation induction.

Summary: A normally functioning menstrual cycle requires communication between hormones in the ovaries and brain tissues. Hormonal dysregulation can lead to abnormal function and infertility. Developing a new endocrine model and using simulated unknown parameters, we identified mechanisms that differentiate normal and abnormal phenotypes. We also discovered an intermediate phenotype, showing normal hormone levels and cycle dynamics, statistically similar to the irregular phenotype. This study highlights the importance of considering clinical symptoms in addition to hormone measurements.

Summary: In women with PCOS, high baseline AMH levels are associated with lower chance of ovulation and longer time to ovulation. AMH can predict ovulation only when the baseline level is below 7.0 ng/ml in women with PCOS.
