Summary: In this study, the role of Plasmodium proteins on collagen in human splenic fibroblasts (HSFs) was reported and verified for the first time. The protein PvTRAg23 specifically reduced the level of collagen I in HSFs and activated the NF-kappa Bp65 pathway to produce inflammatory cytokines, leading to collagen alterations. This study contributes to a better understanding of structural changes and immune responses in the host spleen after Plasmodium infection.

The results demonstrated that L. luisieri essential oil with low quantities of necrodane derivatives was the most effective at inhibiting inflammation.

Summary: This study investigates the potential of OGG1 as a clinically relevant pharmacological target for the treatment of allergic inflammation. The results show that TH5487 treatment decreases goblet cell hyperplasia and mucus production, reduces NF-κB activation, and decreases the expression of proinflammatory cytokines and chemokines, resulting in lower recruitment of immune cells to the lungs. The findings suggest that OGG1 inhibition may have therapeutic effects on allergic asthma.

Summary: This study found that low expression of TP53INP2 is associated with poor survival in colorectal cancer (CRC) patients. As the malignancy of CRC progresses, TP53INP2 expression gradually decreases. Knockdown of TP53INP2 promotes CRC cell proliferation and tumor growth. Mechanistically, TP53INP2 deficiency decreases phosphorylation of beta-catenin, leading to increased accumulation and enhanced nuclear translocation and transcriptional activity. Additionally, TP53INP2 sequesters TIM50, inhibiting its activation of beta-catenin. In conclusion, downregulation of TP53INP2 promotes CRC progression by activating beta-catenin.
