Summary: Naringin is a dietary flavonoid glycoside with multiple bioactivities. This study developed a rapid and sensitive method for simultaneous determination of ten flavonoid metabolites of naringin in rat urine. The results revealed the visible individual difference and low urinary recovery of flavonoid metabolites in the excretion of naringin, which may be helpful for further study to understand the in vivo behavior and action mechanism of naringin.

Summary: A simple, sensitive, and rapid LC-MS/MS method was developed for the simultaneous determination of BIC, M7, and M8 active metabolites in SD rat plasma. The method showed excellent linearity and accuracy for quantitation in plasma samples. Pharmacokinetic analysis revealed improved parameters in the BIC-NPs group compared to the BIC group, with a significant increase in AUC(0-t) for BIC and a double peak phenomenon observed for M7.

Summary: Flavonoid compounds in blackberry and raspberry, such as anthocyanins, have nutritional and health benefits. Different Rubus fruits were examined, with yellow raspberry 'Cold Summit' having the brightest color and Rubus hybrid 'Young' fruit having the highest brix. Significant differences were found in cyanidin-3-sambubioside content in the anthocyanin pathway, which may be mainly responsible for color variations. This study provides a theoretical basis for the comprehensive use and quality improvement of Rubus.

Summary: This study revealed the interaction between plantamajoside and gut microbiota using high-resolution mass spectrometry and targeted metabolomics methods. The results showed that plantamajoside was rapidly metabolized into various active metabolites in the gut microbiota. Moreover, plantamajoside was found to affect short-chain fatty acid and tryptophan metabolism. These findings are significant for understanding the pharmacological effects of plantamajoside.

Summary: Insect metabolites are essential for regulating the physiology, behavior, and adaptations of insects, but the systematic metabolomics within insects remains unclear. This study used HPLC-MS/MS technology to perform a comprehensive metabolomics analysis and constructed an integrated metabolic database of nine insect species with different metamorphosis types. A total of 1442 metabolites were identified, including amino acids, organic acids, fatty acids, glycerophospholipids, nucleotides, and benzene derivatives. The metabolites were enriched in important pathways related to arachidonic acid metabolism, tyrosine metabolism, phenylalanine metabolism, and insect hormone biosynthesis. The study revealed a correlation between the evolutionary relationships of species and the types of metabolites present, while the quantities of metabolites varied greatly among species. The metabolome of these representative insects provides a valuable platform for studying insect systemic metabolites and biological events at the metabolic level.
