Summary: The study found that partial or complete replacement of zinc oxide (ZnO) with the mannan-rich fraction (MRF) in pig diets improved growth performance, reduced diarrhea incidence, increased nutrient digestibility, and positively impacted intestinal health. Furthermore, MRF supplementation also showed positive effects on microbial richness and diversity in pigs.

Summary: The research shows that dietary supplementation with sodium gluconate (SG) can improve the growth performance of piglets and alleviate intestinal injury caused by a recombinant Escherichia coli strain. SG supplementation reduced the feed to gain ratio, plasma glucose concentration, and morphological abnormalities of the small intestine in pigs challenged with the toxin-producing strain. However, SG did not fully restore the imbalanced gut microbiota caused by the recombinant E. coli. Overall, SG shows promise as a feed additive for swine.

Summary: The study found that both mannan-oligosaccharides and beta-glucan improved growth performance in broiler chickens during the starter phase, with beta-glucan additionally increasing body weight gain. Furthermore, the combination of MOS and beta-glucan resulted in higher villi height in the jejunum of the chickens, indicating potential benefits for intestinal health.

Summary: This study demonstrates the inhibitory effect of potassium diformate (KDF) on Salmonella enterica serovar Pullorum in chickens, as well as its influence on the diversity and structure of the chicken intestinal flora. The results suggest that KDF can effectively reduce bacterial loads and pathological changes in infected chickens, improving digestion and altering the composition of the intestinal microflora.

Summary: This study investigated the beneficial effects of mannan oligosaccharide (MOS) on Litopenaeus vannamei, finding that MOS improved growth performance, digestion ability, antioxidant capacity, and immunity of the shrimp. It also optimized intestinal microecology, reduced antibiotic resistance genes, and increased resistance to V. parahaemolyticus, especially at higher levels of supplementation.

Summary: This study evaluated the potential effects of mannan oligosaccharide (MOS) on the health status of common carp under ammonia stress. The results showed that dietary supplementation of MOS improved the growth performance, immunity, antioxidant capacity, and intestinal health of the common carp. MOS effectively alleviated the oxidative damage and inflammatory response caused by ammonia poisoning to common carp.

Summary: Chitosan oligosaccharides (COS) and alginate oligosaccharides (AOS) promote the growth and biosynthesis of steviol glycosides (SGs) in stevia. They increase plant biomass by improving photosynthetic efficiency and leaf number, reducing abscisic acid content, and enhancing the expression of SGs biosynthesis-related genes. Moreover, COS and AOS increase the contents of sweet compounds such as stevioside and rebaudioside A in stevia. In addition, they induce geometric changes in stevia stems, thereby increasing its lodging resistance.

Summary: The present study evaluated the effect of potassium diformate (KDF) on the growth performance, digestion and absorption capacity, and intestinal microbes of juvenile grass carp. The results showed that the addition of KDF improved growth performance, intestinal growth and development, and enzyme activity. Furthermore, the addition of KDF up-regulated the expression of AATs, PepT1, and TOR signaling pathway related genes, while altering the abundance of intestinal bacteria. In conclusion, this study provides novel evidence on the positive role and possible mechanisms of KDF in promoting fish growth.
