Summary: This study compared the EORTC QLQ-C30 and ESC HeartQoL questionnaires for assessing health-related quality of life in cancer patients, and found that both instruments were associated with increased mortality in cancer patients. Combining both questionnaires provided even greater stratification of patient risk.

Summary: This study systematically derived reference values for health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in metastatic pancreatic cancer (mPC) patients and found that patients in the POLO trial had better HRQoL scores compared to the literature and similar to the general population. These findings suggest the potential impact of prior treatment and resolution of chemotherapy-related symptoms on HRQoL in mPC patients.

Summary: This study compared the recovery and morbidity of patients undergoing robot-assisted radical cystectomy with intracorporeal reconstruction versus open radical cystectomy for bladder cancer. The results showed that robot-assisted surgery resulted in a statistically significant increase in the number of days alive and out of the hospital within 90 days of surgery. In addition, robot-assisted surgery had lower rates of thromboembolic and wound complications compared to open surgery. Patients who underwent robot-assisted surgery also reported better quality of life and less disability compared to those who underwent open surgery.

Summary: In this study, PROMIS-29 and EORTC QLQ-C30 were compared in terms of their scores and conceptual agreement in the assessment of health-related quality of life. The results showed that both instruments had similar scores and satisfactory agreement in conceptional and statistical analysis. This suggests that they can be made more comparable through the development of score transformation algorithms or calibration on common scales.

Summary: This study surveyed a representative adult population in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore to assess their willingness to uptake dengue vaccines and their knowledge, attitudes, and practices towards dengue, vector control, prevention, and vaccination. The results showed low global scores for knowledge (48%) and practice (44%), and a moderate score for attitude (66%), with comparable scores across countries. Among all respondents, 53% had a high willingness to vaccinate against dengue, with higher willingness in Latin America (59%) than in Asia Pacific (40%). Key factors associated with increased willingness included accessibility to public vaccination and trust in the healthcare system and government. A common approach to dengue prevention across endemic countries, with country-specific customization, may reduce dengue burden and improve outcomes.

Summary: This study aimed to assess treatment outcomes and associated factors among children aged 6-59 months with severe acute malnutrition. The results showed a low recovery rate, with diarrhea and the use of amoxicillin being significant predictors of treatment outcomes. Therefore, strengthening community-based educational campaigns and enhancing the capacity of the outpatient therapeutic feeding program, as well as frequent monitoring and program evaluation, are recommended to reduce the frequency of severe acute malnutrition among children.
