Summary: The goal of cancer rehabilitation is to help patients recover physically and psychologically after acute cancer treatment and regain their social life. To assess the effectiveness of rehabilitation interventions, it is important to measure their outcomes. This can be done through clinician reports, patient performance testing, observation of behavior, or direct patient feedback. This paper focuses on patient reports and provides an overview of available questionnaires for assessment and advice on their use. The use of electronic systems for collecting data is highlighted as the most promising approach. The assessment of patient perspective aims to inform decisions on choosing and reimbursing rehabilitation interventions based on patients' needs. The article reviews different types of clinical outcome assessments and emphasizes the importance of patient-reported outcomes (PROs) which provide direct reports from patients about their health condition without interpretation by a third party. The article also discusses the current state of PRO implementation in cancer rehabilitation, highlights trends in using PROs for value-based care, and provides examples of PRO usage and the benefits of electronic PRO collection. Advice is offered on selecting, implementing, and integrating PROs into cancer rehabilitation settings to maximize efficiency.

Summary: This study examined the generalizability of findings in upper-limb motor trials conducted early post-stroke. The results showed that key information to support the generalizability of trial findings was insufficiently reported, and broadening eligibility criteria alone may not be enough to improve trial inclusivity due to internal validity constraints.

Summary: A study evaluated the use of HASTE sequence in detecting dynamic changes following ACDF, comparing them to radiographs and assessing cord deformity during flexion-extension. The results showed substantial agreement between readers for dynamic cord deformity using HASTE and moderate agreement between radiographs and MRI for dynamic listhesis.

Summary: This study investigated the construct and criterion validity, as well as the responsiveness and minimal important change (MIC), of the CaReQoL Asthma questionnaire compared to other health measures. The results suggest that the CaReQoL Asthma is a valid and responsive instrument for evaluating and monitoring outcomes of pulmonary rehabilitation in patients with severe refractory asthma.

Summary: This study aimed to validate the consistency of Sections GG, B, and C of CMS-IRF PAI 1.4 with FIMm and FIMc. The results showed a high correlation between Section GG and FIMm, but Section GG had higher scores and more pronounced ceiling effects. The B+C scale had a high correlation with FIMc but showed bias in rating cognitive level and had a greater ceiling effect.

Summary: This study describes the anatomic variants of the lumbosacral (LS) articulation in horses using scintigraphy and transrectal ultrasonography, and assesses the agreement between the two imaging modalities. The results show moderate agreement between scintigraphic classification and ultrasonographic grading. Anatomic variants of the LS articulation were observed in all horse breeds.

Summary: This systematic review aimed to summarize the measurement properties and the clinical utility of measurement tools used in telerehabilitation for individuals with neurological conditions. The results showed that out of the 43 identified measurement tools, 22 had sufficient measurement properties and clinical utility. Further research is needed to investigate measurement error, content validity, structural validity, and responsiveness. Rating: 8 out of 10.

Summary: This study developed an instrument (SFDQ) for assessing financial toxicity among radiation oncology patients, capturing and integrating all relevant domains of subjective financial distress. Validation and reliability assessment showed that SFDQ had good validity and reliability. However, further validation and psychometric evaluation in larger sample studies and different primary cancer sites and treatment modalities are needed to improve the generalizability of this instrument.

Summary: Patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) capture patients' unique perspectives on their symptoms, quality of life, function, disability, and overall health status, but they have several shortcomings, including uncertainties in tool development and scale interpretation, potentially affecting the consistency of study results. This Viewpoint offers recommendations on how to interpret and utilize PROMs effectively despite these limitations.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the correlation between cervical vertebral maturation stages (CVMS) and midpalatal suture maturation stages (MPSMS), and analyze the diagnostic value of CVMS for the assessment of MPSMS. Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) images of 233 subjects (8-20 years) were selected, and the methods of McNamara and Franchi were used to determine CVMS, while the Angelieri method was used to evaluate MPSMS. Spearman rank correlation analysis showed a strong positive correlation (r = 0.867, P < 0.001) between CVMS and MPSMS. CVMS stage CS12 can be used as a reliable indicator for the assessment of MPSMS stage AB.

Summary: The aim of this study was to develop an AI algorithm to determine the stage of cervical vertebra maturation accurately and automatically. By reviewing cephalometric images, data from 1501 subjects were included in the study. A computer vision annotation tool was used for labeling, and the maturation stage was classified using a modified Bachetti method. The developed algorithm showed the ability to determine the cervical vertebrae maturation stage accurately and eliminate human intervention.

Summary: This retrospective study aimed to explore the patient-reported outcome measures (PROM) following coblation nucleoplasty for cervical discogenic dizziness and to compare the therapeutic effect of coblation nucleoplasty with prolonged conservative treatment. The results showed that coblation nucleoplasty significantly improved the symptoms of dizziness and had superior efficacy compared to conservative treatment.
