Summary: Phytochemical study of Aglaia odorata leaves resulted in the isolation of four previously undescribed compounds, including three 2,9-deoxyflavonoids and one flavonol-diamide [3 + 2] adduct, as well as 13 known compounds. The chemical structures of the undescribed compounds were determined through various spectroscopic techniques. The study also revealed a novel 2,9-deoxyflavonoid framework.

The chemically and structurally characteristic flavonoids with a hydroxyl group at the 4 ' position on the B-ring were found to contribute to their protective effect on barrier dysfunction caused by weak UVB irradiation.
