Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the beneficial effects of human dermal fibroblast-derived ECM after fractional carbon dioxide laser resurfacing in Asians. The results showed that the change in melanin level was significantly lower in the ECM group than in the control group at week 12, and transient increase in erythema level was observed at week 4 in the control group, with greater change compared to the ECM group. No significant differences were found between the two groups in other skin parameters.

Summary: This study compared the efficacy and safety of automated microneedling versus fractional CO2 laser in treating traumatic scars. Both treatments showed improvements in scars, collagen, and elastin content, with the laser treatment being more effective in increasing collagen content. Microneedling was found to be effective for hypertrophic scars while fractional CO2 laser was more powerful in stimulating neocollagenesis.

Summary: The combination of fractional and full spot ablative Er:YAG laser is a safe and effective option for full-face resurfacing. Postoperative re-epithelization lasted on average 6.4 days, and post-treatment erythema lasted on average 13.8 days. 96% of cases were treated in a single session, with 78% of patients showing improvement according to blinded assessment of photographs and 97% of patients satisfied with the treatment results.

Summary: The combination of fractional CO2 laser with topical triamcinolone (TA) has a similar therapeutic effect on keloids compared to intralesional TA. However, the combination treatment can better reduce scar volume and significantly decrease Vancouver Scar Scale (VSS) scores. It is an alternative and effective option for the treatment of keloids.

Summary: Rhinophyma is a disfiguring disorder characterized by an erythematous, hypertrophied, and inflamed lower two-thirds of the nose. Early detection and intervention are crucial in treating rhinophyma. This case report demonstrates the successful use of fractional CO2 laser in treating rhinophyma in darker skin types and highlights the potential for future treatments in patients of color.

Summary: The study successfully developed an acellular dermal matrix (ADM) by using supercritical carbon dioxide fluid to remove immunogenic components from decellularized human skin. The ADM exhibited the removal of cellular constituents and retained the integrity of the extracellular matrix. The ADM products demonstrated mechanical properties similar to native skin and showed remarkable biocompatibility and ability to stimulate cellular processes, making them innovative in the field of regeneration.

Summary: The efficacy of different treatment methods for atrophic acne scars varies. Topical SC-CM may enhance the efficacy of FCL, but PRP seems to be a better alternative in this study. Both FCL/PRP and FCL/SC-CM sides showed increased dermal collagen and upregulated procollagen type I gene compared to FCL only sides.
