Summary: This study aimed to investigate the impact of pandemic-related stressors on the psychological well-being of oncological patients. The results showed that satisfaction with information was negatively associated with psychological symptoms, while fear of disease deterioration was related to distress and depressive symptoms. The study suggests that physical well-being has a stronger influence on patients' psychological well-being, and satisfaction with information is an important determinant of anxiety.

Summary: Network theory conceptualizes somatic symptoms as a network of interconnected individual symptoms, with central symptoms having the strongest influence. This study aimed to characterize the somatic symptoms network structure in Chinese patients with depressive disorders in Shanghai. The results identified heart pounding or racing, shortness of breath, and back pain as central symptoms in the somatic symptom network. Psychological and neurobiological research may benefit from targeting these central symptoms for treatment and future investigations.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the prevalence of somatic symptom disorder (SSD) in Asia, particularly in Taiwan, and the relationship between SSD and comorbid depression and anxiety. The results showed that 33.58% of SSD patients had comorbid depression or anxiety. Furthermore, anxiety was significantly associated with outpatient/emergency department attendance, while depression was not. The nationwide prevalence of SSD in Taiwan was consistent with the description in the DSM-5.

Summary: The study found that increased contacts with community nurses were associated with fewer hospital admissions in the last 30 days and fewer emergency department visits in the last 2 weeks for people with end-of-life cancer. However, increased contacts with general practitioners were associated with a higher risk of more hospital admissions in the last 90 days and more emergency department visits in the last 2 weeks. Therefore, expanding community nursing could potentially reduce acute hospital use at the end of life.
