Summary: Cloud manufacturing (CM) is a new networked manufacturing model that delivers various on-demand manufacturing capabilities to consumers through a trust system called Blocktrust. The feasibility of Blocktrust was examined under different testing scenarios, showing that the embedded CM is credible and practical. Using a private network allows for restrictions on participants and faster transaction speed.

Summary: This study explores the application of a smart manufacturing execution system (SMES) in a medium-sized company in the Czech Republic, based on the current controlling structure. By developing a sample architecture grounded in the current controlling structure of SMEs, the research found that simple tasks with intelligent welding equipment can work effectively with SMES, but complex assembly works remain a challenge. This research contributes to understanding SMES architectures in SMEs by utilizing a standardization module.

Developing blockchain solutions for cloud-based manufacturing is a relatively new field with limited case studies. However, most existing smart contract research focuses on financial and notary-centric applications, while cloud manufacturing literature mostly deals with IoT and cloud computing systems. Further research is needed to identify best practices for manufacturing supported by blockchain smart contracts.

Summary: To remain competitive in industrial manufacturing markets, coating companies are advised to implement flexible production systems that can handle both mass customization and mass production workflows. The integration of robotic manipulators capable of accurately mimicking the motions of skilled technicians is crucial for dealing with high levels of customization. However, limitations exist when using fully automated systems for coating applications, especially with large and complex customized products. This paper discusses the development of a collaborative coating cell to enhance the flexibility and efficiency of coating processes, with features such as intuitive robot trajectory teaching, modular 3D perception system, and non-intrusive zone monitoring safety system for human-robot collaboration.
