Results of an experimental work on drying and bleaching of wooden pulp have been presented. Radio-frequency wave and microwave devices were applied for the processes. Non-uniform way of heat generation inside the material was confirmed. Graphs of distributions of material consistency (magnitude representing content of dry wood in humid sample) after the xperiment along the height of a reactor for different initial consistencies of the material and different times of processing were presented. Pattern of locations, where heat is generated in the sample affects the results of bleaching of wooden pulp. Better results of bleaching were obtained in case of micro-wave application in compare with radio-frequency material treatment. (C) 2007 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
