Summary: This randomized controlled trial assessed the effectiveness of a novel transdiagnostic internet-delivered psychological intervention for adults with neurological disorders. The intervention showed significant improvements in depression, anxiety, and disability compared to the treatment-as-usual waitlist control group, and these effects were maintained at 3-month follow-up.

Summary: Combining 3rd-wave-therapies with Cognitive-Behavioural-Therapy (CBT) has become more common in recent years. However, the longer sessions required by these therapies can lead to higher drop-out rates for cancer patients. This study developed a shorter 20 min-long mindfulness therapy (MBST) for breast cancer patients and found that it had immediate positive effects on anxiety, depression, self-efficacy, hopefulness, and saturation levels.

Summary: Intrusive memories are common and distressing after trauma. A novel one-session intervention was found to reduce intrusive memories over the subsequent week. A pilot randomized controlled trial in a Swedish hospital emergency department showed that a brief behavioral intervention resulted in fewer intrusive memories of trauma at both week 1 and week 5 compared to a control condition.

Summary: This study tested the efficacy and mechanism of an app-delivered Mindfulness Training for Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), demonstrating its clinical efficacy in reducing anxiety with significant results. Increased mindfulness at 1 month was found to mediate decreases in worry at 2 months, and decreases in worry at 1 month mediated reductions in anxiety at 2 months. This highlights the potential of digital therapeutics in improving health outcomes for individuals with anxiety at a low cost.

Summary: The current study examined the efficacy and acceptability of an internet-delivered transdiagnostic psychological intervention for individuals with chronic health conditions. Results showed significant improvements in depression, anxiety, and disability for the treatment group, with sustained improvements over the follow-up periods. High treatment completion rates and participant satisfaction were reported. These findings suggest that internet-delivered interventions have the potential to promote adjustment to chronic health conditions.

Summary: This randomized controlled trial showed that adherence to ecologically-valid, guidelines-based resistance exercise training (RET) can significantly reduce depressive symptoms in young adults with and without subclinical or analogue Generalized Anxiety Disorder (AGAD) and Major Depressive Disorder (AMDD). These findings support RET as a promising treatment for mild depression.

Summary: Group intervention can improve repetitive negative thinking and quality of life of patients with major depressive disorder and/or generalized anxiety disorder, with effects lasting up to 9 months after treatment. Limitations of the study include small sample size, lack of long-term follow-up in the delayed treatment control group, and inclusion of highly educated patients with mainly high comorbid generalized anxiety disorder and depression.

Summary: The study found that although there were no significant group differences in primary and secondary outcomes, the intervention group reported receiving more information about health and social services, indicating an improvement in patient experience. Further research on the impact of the intervention and factors contributing to the results is recommended, as the sample size was below the target.

Summary: This study investigated whether micronutrients can improve anxiety and depression symptoms in an adult community setting. The results showed that the micronutrient group had faster improvements on both the PHQ-9 and GAD-7. For specific subgroups, such as younger participants, those from lower socioeconomic groups, and those who had previously tried psychiatric medication, micronutrients may offer greater potential as an intervention.

Summary: Intervention programs designed, delivered, and evaluated within organizations are essential for promoting employee health and preventing occupational injury, requiring a clear development process, theoretical foundations, and relevant outcomes from participatory action processes. This paper outlines the development of two collaborative intervention programs targeting wildland firefighters, including a physical fitness training program and a psychosocial education program. The study demonstrates the capacity for researchers and organizations to collaboratively develop practical programs for implementation and delivery.

They are involved in supporting patients, reiterating diagnostic information, and helping patients understand the impact of their condition, ultimately empowering patients to regain control over their health and lives.
