Summary: This study investigated the socioeconomic factors associated with oral diseases in a population-based study in Brazil. Results showed that socioeconomic factors were significantly associated with oral disease burden (ODB), with nonwhite individuals, those with lower family income, lower education levels, and those reporting oral health impact on daily activities more likely to have ODB components. Older adults were also found to have the highest cumulative number of ODB components.

Summary: The study revealed that patients often express negative emotions, such as fear and anxiety, during the decision-making process for thyroid cancer treatment, while most surgeons tend to provide education rather than empathy in response. Both surgeons and patients acknowledge patient fear and anxiety as a reason to choose thyroidectomy instead of active surveillance.

Summary: Activist shareholders play an increasingly relevant role in management decisions, particularly in influencing dividend policies of companies. Despite potentially leading to higher volatility in dividend levels and payout ratios, activist campaigns are positively associated with firms' decisions to pay dividends, with activists preferring to collect dividends in the years following their campaigns as a risk management mechanism.

Summary: For women with deep endometriosis, pain is almost always the most important factor in treatment decision-making, but the desire for pregnancy and fear of complications may alter this choice. Physicians should understand the importance of fertility for most women and also respect views where it is not considered paramount. Improving shared decision-making requires exploring treatment goals, training healthcare providers, and providing better patient information.

Summary: The study aims to explore the factors that influence women's disposition decisions toward their surplus-frozen oocytes. The results revealed that decisions are dynamic and are influenced by trigger events, the desire for motherhood, conceptualization of oocytes, the impacts of egg donation on others, and external factors. Women who achieved motherhood were more open to donation but had concerns for their child. Women who did not become mothers were unlikely to donate and experienced grief, loneliness, and lack of support. Providing decision support and considering disposition options early in the process may help women make informed decisions.

Summary: This study aims to improve bidding decisions in construction projects by developing tools that consider both qualitative and quantitative factors. The proposed mixed qualitative-quantitative approach combines a rule-based expert system and fuzzy-based expert system to evaluate projects comprehensively. The findings demonstrate that this approach provides a more reliable, accurate, and practical tool for decision-makers involved in bid/no-bid decisions.

Summary: In recent years, there has been increasing evidence that internet-based health management can help hypertensive patients control their blood pressure. However, there is a lack of similar research in China. This study aims to investigate the impact of long-term internet-based health management on the control of clinical parameters in patients with hypertension and identify relevant factors affecting blood pressure control.

Summary: This study examined the consistency of reporting study design, end points, and results of clinical trials presented at major international medical conferences in conference abstracts, published article abstracts, and press releases. The results showed that primary efficacy endpoint definitions were consistently reported, while reporting consistency rates were lower for sample sizes, follow-up periods, and effect size estimates.

Summary: The impact and effectiveness of clinical trial data sharing initiatives may vary depending on the data sharing model. By comparing the centralized model used by NHLBI and the decentralized model used by NCI, we found that more NHLBI-funded trials shared data and had more shared data publications. This suggests that the centralized data sharing model is more effective in promoting data sharing.
