Summary: This meta-analysis explores the relationship between adipokines levels (leptin, adiponectin, and chemerin) and the incidence of senile osteoporosis. The findings indicate that older individuals with lower levels of leptin and higher levels of chemerin are more likely to have senile osteoporosis. Additionally, there is a significant positive correlation between levels of leptin and adiponectin and body mass index.

Summary: High chemerin levels are associated with functional disability in RA, while other pro-inflammatory molecules are not correlated with loss of function. Chemerin is correlated with HAQ-DI and DAS28-ESR, and severe activity is correlated with IL-6 and E-selectin.

Summary: This study investigated the relationship between serum irisin levels and anthropometric parameters, body composition, metabolic profiles, leptin, and adiponectin in obese and normal-weight children. The study found significant differences in anthropometric parameters, body composition, and metabolic profiles between the obese and normal-weight groups. However, there was no significant difference in serum irisin levels between the groups, and no correlation between irisin levels and other indicators.

Summary: This study aimed to estimate the serum levels of adiponectin, leptin, and resistin in children born small for gestational age (SGA) compared to children born with appropriate birthweight. The results showed that SGA children had significantly higher levels of adiponectin and leptin, while resistin levels were comparable. There were correlations between body weight, blood pressure, and adiponectin and leptin levels in SGA children.

Summary: The study aimed to analyze the changes in neuroendocrine peptides regulating appetite, mainly nesfatin-1 and spexin, in children with Prader-Willi syndrome undergoing growth hormone treatment and reduced energy intake. The results showed that nesfatin-1 values were similar in the control group and the PWS subgroup with BMI Z-score < -0.5, while higher in the PWS subgroup with BMI Z-score >= -0.5. Both PWS subgroups had lower spexin values compared to the control group. These differences may contribute to the metabolic disorders observed in Prader-Willi syndrome.

Summary: This meta-analysis study found that individuals with postmenopausal osteoporosis (PMOP) have lower blood leptin levels and higher adiponectin levels compared to healthy individuals with normal bone mineral density. The statistical difference in leptin level changed after removing the confounding influence of leptin sources and assay approaches. The study also found a positive association between leptin level and body mass index (BMI), and a negative association between adiponectin level and bone mineral density (BMD). Adiponectin had the highest probability of predicting PMOP.

Summary: Adipose tissue produces and releases adipokines, and exercise can modulate adipokine production in adipocytes. The aim of this longitudinal study was to evaluate the acute and chronic effects of strength training on plasma levels of adiponectin, leptin, and resistin. The results showed that strength training acutely and chronically affected the levels of adipokines in the blood.

Summary: The objective of this study was to systematically evaluate the impact of aerobic exercise on serum adiponectin concentrations in children and adolescents with obesity. The results demonstrated that aerobic training significantly increased serum adiponectin concentrations in this population, with higher-intensity aerobic exercise resulting in greater increases.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of acute step-aerobic exercise on leptin and adiponectin levels in sedentary premenopausal women. The results showed a significant decrease in leptin levels and increase in adiponectin levels after exercise, suggesting benefits for the organism. Further studies are needed to validate these findings.

Summary: Bariatric procedures, particularly laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG), are highly effective in treating obesity. LSG leads to weight loss and metabolic improvement, as well as changes in adipokine levels. Adipokines, including leptin, resistin, visfatin, chemerin, adiponectin, and omentin, play a crucial role in regulating insulin resistance and chronic inflammation, and are significantly altered after LSG.

Summary: A retrospective study analyzed data from 1,480 hospitalized children and found that the FilmArray method for respiratory viruses did not decrease hospital stay duration, but could quickly detect the prevalence of respiratory infections and assist in clinical treatment. It also reduced the time from admission to isolation by influenza infection in hospitalized children not initially diagnosed with influenza.
