Summary: Research has shown that HDGF promotes metastasis in Ewing sarcoma (ES) and leads to poor patient outcomes by regulating multiple metastasis-associated genes, particularly ALCAM. The study further reveals associations among HDGF, ALCAM, and GTPases, suggesting that the HDGF/ALCAM/GTPases axis may serve as a promising therapeutic target for limiting ES metastasis.

Summary: The classical small Rho GTPase protein family plays crucial roles in regulating cell functions, including maintaining genomic stability and participating in DNA damage response. Studies have shown that direct modulation of Rho GTPase activity, its downstream effectors, and actin cytoskeleton regulation can impact cellular events.

Summary: Executing precise glycan editing is crucial for understanding glycan-related biological processes and improving disease therapy. This study introduces a versatile and traceless glycan modification method that allows customization of targeted protein glycoforms through chemical and photoregulation. The method minimizes interference and enables precise temporal control of editing events.

Summary: Cyclic arginine-glycine-aspartic (RGD) peptides with specific binding ability to integrin alpha nu beta 3 have been developed for drug delivery, tracing, and imaging in tumor diagnosis and treatment. In this study, a series of polycyclic RGD peptides with dual, tri, and tetra rings were designed and synthesized using sortase A-mediated ligation. In vitro cell adhesion inhibition tests revealed that the tricyclic RGD peptide exhibited outstanding potency and selectivity for alpha nu beta 3 integrin.

Summary: By utilizing metabolic oligosaccharide engineering and chemo selective labeling, a new method has been developed to reengineer the cell surface charges of live cells. It has been demonstrated that reducing the negative charge induced by overexpressed cell surface sialic acids in cancer cells can lead to a reduction in cell migration without affecting drug susceptibility.

Summary: This study utilized a computer-controlled micropipette (CCMP) to measure the dissociation constant (K-d) of integrin-RGD binding, combined with techniques such as surface coating and local flow inducing hydrodynamic lifting force to study cell adhesion behavior. The results demonstrated that CCMP could effectively characterize cell adhesion at both single-cell and whole population levels, offering a convenient and automated approach for quantifying cell adhesivity before further processing.

Summary: In this study, we engineered extracellular vesicles (EVs) derived from human pancreatic cancer cells with RGD and magnetic nanoparticles, resulting in enhanced therapeutic effect for pancreatic cancer treatment. The modified EVs showed improved targeting to pancreatic cancer cells and significant reduction in tumor size. Additionally, we identified a key molecule, integrin beta 3, involved in the homing properties of PANC-1 EVs.
