Summary: Cutaneous fibrosis is a key feature of systemic sclerosis (SSc) and recent studies have linked abnormal deposition of collagen V (Col V) in the dermis with skin thickening and disease activity. Analysis of early SSc patients revealed altered expression of alpha 1(V) and alpha 2(V) chains, suggesting a potential role in thickening and fibrosis associated with SSc.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the reasons why bystanders in Hanoi, Vietnam do not use formal EMS or perform CPR for OHCA patients. The study found that the most common reason for not using EMS was that bystanders believed private vehicles or taxis were faster. Reasons for not performing CPR included not recognizing the ailment as cardiac arrest, lack of CPR knowledge, and fear of harming the patient. Only 7% of bystanders had received CPR training.
