Summary: This study analyzed the effectiveness of a risk assessment scoring system for determining eligibility for day surgery, taking into account medical, procedure-related, and socioeconomic factors. The results showed that the day surgery risk score may not be more accurate than a random classification model in predicting postoperative complications after endoscopic sinus surgery.

Summary: Sinonasal cancers are rare and require surgery as the first step of the therapeutic strategy, possibly accompanied by adjuvant therapies. Surgical excision can be performed through open, endoscopic, or combined approaches, with the choice based on general and specific criteria related to tumor characteristics, patient status, and surgeon preference. This review provides an overview of surgical techniques for sinonasal malignant tumors, with a focus on recent advancements in transnasal endoscopic surgery, and discusses criteria for selecting appropriate techniques based on oncological outcomes, morbidity, and histologic subtypes.

Summary: In this retrospective study, the oncologic outcomes of different histologic subtypes of SNMs were evaluated, and the impact of multimodality treatment on prognosis was investigated. The results showed that curative-intent surgery is crucial in the treatment of SNM, and the endoscopic approach can be an effective alternative to the open approach. Age, surgical resection extent, sinonasal surgical history, and radiotherapy history were identified as risk factors for poorer prognosis.

Summary: Sinonasal malignancy is a rare and heterogenous disease with wide variation in management across UK centers. This report summarizes the findings of a survey and expert workshop discussion, highlighting the need to standardize practice and develop an evidence base for treatment. The study aimed to inform the design of a proposed trial comparing proton beam therapy and intensity-modulated radiation therapy.

Summary: The endoscopic endonasal approach for patients with a sellar tumor is a gentle method with minimal impact on sinonasal quality of life over a period longer than six months. Common complaints post-surgery include the need to blow nose, nasal congestion, loss of smell and taste, and thick discharge from the nose. Cranial base reconstruction using muscle and fascia lata appears to positively influence sinonasal quality of life.

Summary: Sinonasal cancer is a heterogeneous orphan disease with diverse histologies and profiles. Multimodality treatment is the standard for advanced-stage patients, but there is a lack of guidelines for surveillance and follow-up care. Sinonasal cancer exhibits distinct characteristics and can result in various impairments, impacting quality of life. Tailored survivorship programs are needed to address the specific challenges faced by sinonasal cancer patients.

Summary: In this study, different staging systems for sinonasal IP were compared in terms of recurrence rates, with the Han and Meng systems found to be more accurate in predicting tumor recurrence. Recommendations were made to use the Han staging system before surgery and the Meng system after intraoperative identification of the tumor's origin.

Summary: The study found that 80% of SNM patients treated at a tertiary referral centre completed treatment, with overall survival rates of 57% at 5 years and 35% at 10 years. Different histological subtypes of tumors have different survival rates, and increasing age, advanced stage, melanoma histopathology, and treatment with definitive chemoradiotherapy are significant independent prognostic risk factors for disease-specific mortality.

Summary: The impact of negative margins achieved through skull base resection on the outcomes of patients with recurrent sinonasal cancers (RSNCs) has not been demonstrated. This study suggests that negative margins might be associated with improved progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) in carefully selected patients who have undergone salvage surgery for RSNC.

Summary: This systematic review and meta-analysis suggests that the 5-year OS rate for DN-SCC may approach 54.5% and recurrence rate approaches 42.7%. Various tumor characteristics including advanced T stage, positive nodal status, maxillary sinus origin, and negative HPV status are all associated with decreased survival.

Summary: The study compared the cost-effectiveness of dupilumab and ESS in treating CRSwNP, with the results showing that the ESS treatment strategy is more cost-effective. Further research is needed to identify potential phenotypes or endotypes that will benefit most from dupilumab treatment in a cost-effective manner.

Summary: The diagnostic criteria for RARS are not fully characterized in the literature, with studies and guidelines using various definitions based on symptomatology, physical examination, imaging, and laboratory domains. There is a lack of consistency in the diagnostic criteria for RARS, with the current definition based on low level 4 and 5 evidence.
