Summary: The soluble form of ADAM28 is decreased in the lungs of mice exposed to allergens and its expression gradually increases with the duration of allergen exposure. ADAM28 knockout mice have reduced bronchial responsiveness and less developed airway remodelling compared to wild-type mice. ADAM28 is also expressed by lung fibroblasts and may contribute to the modulation of airway remodelling.

Summary: The study revealed that the Brazilian Cerrado has experienced significant warming trends over the past few decades, with relative humidity decreasing by approximately 15%, potentially leading to a reduction in nocturnal dewfall and impacting the survival of many plants and animals. These climate changes could have a high impact on biodiversity and potentially cause ecosystems to collapse.

Summary: Biological responsiveness refers to the ability of living organisms to adapt to changes and declines with aging. Understanding the impact of aging on signaling systems and restoring compromised responsiveness can help develop strategies for controlling aging process and treating age-related disorders.

Summary: This study explored hand ownership in teenagers with unilateral cerebral palsy compared with typically developing teenagers. The findings suggest that teenagers with UCP have altered hand ownership and a distorted subjective experience, which may be related to early dysfunction in complex sensory-motor integration. Hand ownership may influence motor impairment and could serve as a target for early intervention.

Summary: The disastrous cloudburst and floods in Kerala have raised concerns about the changing rainfall patterns along the west coast of India. Analysis of reanalysis data, satellite observations, and balloon soundings data suggest that there is a trend towards more convective and deeper clouds in recent decades.

Summary: The study aimed to investigate the prevalence and magnitude of RV responsiveness in asthma patients. It was found that patients with lower baseline FEV1 values showed higher RV responsiveness, while the baseline RV value had minimal influence on RV responsiveness. More subjects showed isolated RV responsiveness compared to isolated FEV1 responsiveness.

Summary: This study analyzed data from ten Specialist Trainee Anaesthetists during a 6-month training program, identifying three themes: 'Identity as an Anaesthetist', 'The Role of a Temporary Surgeon', and 'Training to Reconcile Identities'. The training program facilitated the transition from being an Anaesthetist to a temporary Surgeon and back, allowing trainees to move between control and responsibility, uncertainty, and confidence in their roles.

Summary: The study found that combining dexamethasone and IL-27 can reverse inflammation in steroid-resistant allergic inflammation. Tregs play a crucial role in this treatment process, and manipulating steroid responsiveness in Tregs may represent a novel strategy to treat steroid refractory asthma.

Summary: This study found that quadriceps tendon autograft and concurrent lateral extra-articular tenodesis (LET) are becoming increasingly popular in revision ACL-R, with intact cartilage and severely abnormal preoperative knee laxity representing indications for LET. The high rate of concurrent procedures observed demonstrates the high surgical demands of revision ACL-R.

Summary: Research shows that while European and Japanese gas markets are significantly synchronized, the synchronization is lower compared to oil markets. Fluctuations in the North American gas market are independent of other markets. Filtering out the effect of oil price variations, the existing synchronization between gas markets almost disappears.

Summary: Chronic obstructive airway diseases are a global burden that is expected to increase. The authors demonstrate the role of anandamide (AEA), an endocannabinoid, in inducing airway relaxation. They identify the source of AEA-induced relaxation and highlight its potential as a therapeutic target for airway relaxation.
