Summary: This study demonstrates that FDS treatment for MCA bifurcation aneurysms is feasible, with safety and efficacy profiles comparable to other available endovascular options. When used in carefully selected aneurysms, jailing of M2 branches was not associated with a higher risk of post-procedural ischemic complications.

Summary: A novel deep learning method is proposed to accurately predict the hemodynamics of different cerebral aneurysms before and after FD stent placement with low computational cost and simple operation processes. The method shows consistent prediction results with the CFD method but significantly reduces calculation time by 1,800 times.

Summary: The study aims to investigate the effects of a novel stereoscopic flow-diverting stent on the hemodynamics and pathophysiology of intracranial aneurysms. Clinical data including 3D digital subtraction angiography (3D-DSA), transcranial Doppler ultrasound (TCD) findings, and blood examination-related parameters were collected. A model of aneurysm with its bearing artery was established, and a novel stereoscopic flow-diverting stent model was constructed. The results showed that the novel stent effectively reduced blood flow into the aneurysm, decreased blood flow velocity, and attenuated wall shear stress in the aneurysm.

Summary: This study evaluated the changes in the diameter and flow of the circle of Willis and side branches after the use of FDSs for the treatment of ICA terminal segment aneurysms. The results showed that FDSs were able to cover arterial structures and achieve complete occlusion of the aneurysms. Follow-up measurements revealed a decrease in the diameter of the ipsilateral ACA A1 segment and an increase in the diameter of the contralateral A1 segment, suggesting that the treatment had an impact on the blood flow of the patients.

Summary: The meta-analysis indicated that flow-diverting stents (FDS) have a high technical success rate of 98.5% in treating peripheral and visceral artery aneurysms (PAA/VAAs). The FDS also demonstrated good preservation of side branches, successful thrombosis of aneurysms, and significant shrinkage/stabilization of aneurysms. Further larger studies are needed to confirm these findings.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the combined effects of Re, De, Wo, and the geometry of the aneurysmal sac on the haemodynamics before and after treatment with FDS. The results demonstrated the primary role of haemodynamics in the treatment of intracranial aneurysms with FDS.

Summary: This study investigated the hemodynamics of overlapping flow diverters (FDs) using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations. Results showed significant changes in blood flow inside the aneurysm with overlapping FDs compared to a single FD. The qualitative and quantitative investigations are meaningful for the clinical outcomes of overlapped FD deployment.

Summary: This paper designs a new type of auxetic metamaterial-inspired structural architectures to innovate coronary stents under hemodynamics, aiming to reduce the occurrence of stent thrombosis and in-stent restenosis. A multiscale level-set approach with numerical homogenization method and computational fluid dynamics is applied, proposing a homogenized effective modified fluid permeability to efficiently connect design variables with blood flow motions around the stent.

Summary: The study evaluated an alternative strategy of modeling FD effects for the Tubridge system using a porous medium to reduce demands on time and complexity of simulation procedures. Comparisons between the porous medium approach and direct virtual FD simulations showed comparable hemodynamic alterations, with a significant reduction in modeling complexity and computation time.

Summary: This case series demonstrated the safety and feasibility of using the SVB FD in patients with aneurysms in small, distal vessels. Most patients had an mRS score of 0 at discharge, with good aneurysm occlusion shown on MRI and angiography examinations. More randomized, prospective studies with larger cohorts are needed to further assess the SVB's effectiveness.

Summary: This study explored the integration patterns of flow-diverting devices (FDD) into clinical practice among neurointerventionalists in the United States. The survey results showed that the Pipeline Embolization Device (PED) was the most commonly used FDD, and there were variations in device preferences based on the backgrounds of the physicians.

Summary: The study explores the clinical utility of Rupture Resemblance Score (RRS) in guiding the management of unruptured intracranial aneurysms (UIAs), particularly in challenging cases. Results indicate that RRS helps identify high-risk UIAs by analyzing their morphology and hemodynamics and comparing the RRS with treatment decisions.

Summary: The study introduces a method of visualizing computational fluid dynamics simulations of cerebral aneurysm treatment using virtual reality. By developing a method to convert numerical data into three-dimensional objects in virtual reality, neurosurgeons and patients can make better decisions about treatment devices and improve the pre-treatment consulting process.
