Summary: This study compared continuous noninvasive blood pressure (CNBP) with invasive blood pressure (IBP) using error grid analysis. It found larger clinical discrepancies between CNBP and IBP for mean blood pressure (MBP) compared with systolic blood pressure (SBP). Older age and longer finger cuff inflation time were significant factors associated with being in a more dangerous zone of the error grid.

Summary: The continuous noninvasive blood pressure measurement system CNAP2GO presents a potential breakthrough in patient monitoring, directly measuring blood pressure using volume control technique for integration in small wearable sensors. CNAP2GO demonstrated excellent blood pressure measurement performance during surgeries, with the capability to derive cardiac output and other hemodynamic variables. The system can self-calibrate and be miniaturized for wearable use, offering significant promise for blood pressure monitoring in clinical settings.

Summary: The measurement of blood pressure using manual auscultation and observation of Korotkoff sounds is currently the most accurate method. This paper proposes a new approach to determine the audibility of Korotkoff sounds based on psychoacoustic masking. By collecting Korotkoff sounds using an electronic stethoscope and comparing sound audibility with electronically recorded sound levels, a threshold for sound audibility can be approximated. This approach could have significant implications for the development of automated auscultation blood pressure measurements.

Summary: Current arterial lines for continuous blood pressure monitoring in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) have drawbacks, but noninvasive, wireless skin-interfaced devices offer the potential for accurate monitoring and could be a suitable alternative. System level properties of these devices have been optimized for reliable use in the PICU, allowing for continuous tracking of blood pressure values in certain practical situations.

Summary: In this study, it was found that NICAP had poor correlation with arterial lines in elderly patients for the whole surgery or during anesthesia induction, and also showed poor comparability in detecting blood pressure change trends with arterial lines. These findings suggest that more accurate calibration and iteration are needed before NICAP can be clinically applied in elderly patients with comorbidities.

Summary: The controversy over defining resting diastolic blood pressure in children and adolescents as the onset of the fourth or fifth Korotkoff phase continues. A study found that a hybrid approach using K4 or K5 produced reasonable measurements in 97% of participants, indicating the potential for more reliable DBP assessments.

Summary: This study proposes a multimodal wearable biosensor device for continuous blood pressure (BP) monitoring through various tests. Three pulse transit time (PTT)-BP estimation models were evaluated to identify the best mode for predicting BP response to exercise. The proposed BP monitoring system connects to the cloud server for health data processing and management. The device's efficacy was validated by monitoring the natural variability of BP in various cycling tests, showing its feasibility for continuous, long-term BP monitoring in remote diagnosis and management with IoT-based healthcare applications.

Summary: This study compared different methods for measuring systolic blood pressure (SBP) in CKD patients and investigated the effects of age, sex, diabetes, CKD stage, and pulse pressure on measurement errors. The results showed that the SFATI technique provided accurate SBP measurements in severe CKD patients, while oscillometry had the risk of misclassification.

Summary: Noninvasive continuous blood pressure estimation is a promising method for long-term and continuous blood pressure monitoring in ecological situations. The current estimation algorithm is based on pulse transit time measurement, but requires calibration to minimize error. Recent research focuses on simplified arterial properties, but there is a need for more complete calibration models.
