Summary: The study results indicate that using different types of distal attachments (such as cuff or cap) does not show significant advantages over high-definition white light colonoscopy in improving adenoma detection rate, but Endocuff may have some advantages in the screening population.

Summary: In the context of unsedated sigmoidoscopies with enema preparation performed by accredited endoscopists, there was no significant difference in patient-reported pain between CO2 and WAS techniques. The adenoma detection rate was slightly different between the two techniques, but both remained above the national performance standard. Cost difference between CO2 and WAS was negligible.

Summary: This study compared the efficacy, tolerability, and safety of two regimens for bowel preparation after failed attempts. The results showed that split-dose 4 L-PEG with 15 mg bisacodyl, along with dietary restrictions, had similar efficacy as a higher-volume preparation. This method should be considered for patients who previously failed bowel preparation.

Summary: This study compared the effects of peppermint oil vs placebo in relieving IBS symptoms and found both groups showed clinically meaningful improvement, but there were no significant differences between them. Further large, rigorous trials are needed to evaluate the role of peppermint oil for treating IBS.

Summary: The study demonstrates that underwater endoscopic mucosal resection (UEMR) is superior to conventional endoscopic mucosal resection (CEMR) in terms of en bloc resection, R0 resection, and procedure time for large colorectal lesions, with significantly lower recurrence rates for lesions sized between 30 mm and 40 mm.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of mild moxibustion (MM) for the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea (IBS-D) and compare them with placebo moxibustion. The findings suggest that mild moxibustion may be more effective than placebo moxibustion for the treatment of IBS-D, with effects lasting up to 12 weeks.

Summary: Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is more common in women, especially those of childbearing age, but there is a lack of research and guidelines on managing IBS during pregnancy. Multidisciplinary approach emphasizing education and cautious use of safe dietary modifications and medications should be employed for pregnant women with IBS.

Summary: The study evaluated the efficacy and safety of remimazolam besylate combined with esketamine for outpatient colonoscopy. The results showed that remimazolam besylate combined with esketamine achieved similar efficacy to propofol, with reduced injection pain and more stable hemodynamics. However, it prolonged induction and awakening time.

Summary: This study analyzed fecal samples from IBS patients and healthy controls, and found significant differences in gut microbiota between the two groups, with higher intra-sample biodiversity in healthy controls. Furthermore, non-constipated patients could be classified into two subgroups based on their SCFA levels, each characterized by unique taxonomic bacterial signatures. The study provides a new perspective on the relationship between the gut microbiome and IBS, underscoring the importance of personalized strategies for management.

Summary: Fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) therapy has shown promising efficacy in treating patients with treatment-resistant Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), particularly in relieving predominant bloating symptoms. The treatment response was associated with higher microbiome diversity in stool samples before FMT administration, suggesting a potential biomarker for patient selection.

Summary: Irritable bowel syndrome is a common gastrointestinal disorder that significantly impacts patients' quality of life, with studies showing that treatment effects can be maintained for a period of time after cessation. Evaluating post-treatment therapeutic effects is clinically important for preventing IBS relapses.
