Summary: We report a rare case of tannin-phytobezoars that were endoscopically removed with the administration and injection of Coca-Cola (R). The patient drank Coca-Cola (R) for 4 days to soften the bezoars, and they were then crushed and removed using endoscopic instruments.

Summary: Xylobezoar is a rare clinical condition where undigested paper becomes trapped in the gastrointestinal tract causing gastrointestinal obstruction. It is often seen in children with a history of gastric surgeries, decreased gastrointestinal motility, or pica. Surgical intervention is usually necessary and endoscopic removal is challenging. Chemical dissolution has been proven effective in some cases, while in this report, continuous enteral Coca-Cola infusion successfully treated a pediatric patient with xylobezoar.

Summary: This article examines the decline of the amateurism principle in Israeli sports during the country's early years. It focuses on two basketball events, the visit of the Harlem Globetrotters in 1955 and the establishment of the European Professional Basketball League in 1975, which both went against the principle of amateurism. The article discusses the significance of amateurism in Israel and its erosion due to American influence, as well as the efforts and factors that led to the failure of establishing a professional league.

Summary: First-line ICIs plus chemotherapy can prolong OS and PFS in patients with advanced esophagogastric cancers, but the rate of adverse events is higher. Finding methods to prevent adverse events without affecting the efficacy of ICIs is needed.

Summary: This retrospective study analyzed data from 90 patients with advanced gastric/GEJ adenocarcinoma and found that maintenance therapy following induction fluoropyrimidine and platinum-based therapy is associated with an improved toxicity profile and appears to have comparable efficacy to continuous treatment in metastatic gastric/GEJ cancer.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the combination of behavioral therapy (BT), drug therapy, and pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT) in patients with overactive bladder (OAB) who did not respond to drug therapy. The results showed that the combination therapy significantly reduced OAB scores, frequency, and nocturia, and the patients were satisfied with the treatment outcome.

Summary: Tumor mutation burden (TMB) is a promising biomarker associated with immunotherapy benefit and chemotherapy outcome. This study demonstrated that TMB-high advanced gastric cancer patients had a poorer prognosis when treated with first-line chemotherapy, potentially due to downregulated metabolic activity.

Summary: This study investigates the effects of chemotherapy on the tumor-immune microenvironment (TME) in gastric cancer patients. They found that chemotherapy can remodel the TME, leading to increased infiltration of natural killer (NK) cells, repolarization of macrophages, and increased antigen presentation. However, nonresponders to chemotherapy exhibited different features, including low or absent expression of PD-L1, increased WNT signaling, B-cell infiltration, and increased expression of LAG3 in T cells coupled with decreased dendritic cell abundance.

Summary: The use of avelumab as maintenance therapy after first-line chemotherapy did not show superior overall survival compared to continued chemotherapy in patients with advanced GC or GEJC, regardless of PD-L1 status. Treatment-related adverse events occurred in both groups, with more severe events in the continued chemotherapy group.

Summary: This study reviewed the efficacy and safety of lenvatinib as a first-line treatment for unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and compared it with sorafenib. The analysis of 24 studies showed that lenvatinib can provide better tumor responses and survival benefits for unresectable HCC patients compared to sorafenib, with a comparable incidence of adverse events.
