Summary: This study evaluated the impact of fertilizer nitrogen levels on the yield, bulb quality, and consumers' preference of short-day onions grown under subtropical conditions in the southeastern U.S. The results showed that nitrogen levels had a significant effect on yield and bulb quality, but did not affect consumers' preference. Additionally, the appropriate nitrogen application rate could sustain soil mineral nitrogen availability.

Summary: The study suggests that intensive small-scale poultry farming can be highly vulnerable to environmental stressors in the absence of proper support, posing challenges to the operators. Additionally, households may inaccurately report poultry survivorship, leading to inaccurate assessment of the effectiveness of aid programs.

Summary: Improvements to freshwater quality can lead to various benefits, including recreational activities, biodiversity preservation, and enhanced water quality. However, the economic valuation of these benefits has not progressed as much as the valuation of air quality benefits, affecting water policy. Recent advancements in data sources, modeling techniques, and stated preference survey methods have improved estimates of the economic value of water quality improvements.

Summary: Consumer preference prediction aims to predict future purchases based on historical behavior-level data. However, missing values and imbalanced class problems often make machine learning algorithms ineffective. This study proposes an adaptive process for selecting the optimal combination of amputation, imputation, imbalance treatment, and classification based on classification performance.

Summary: Freezing technology is a well-established preservation technique for producing high-quality and nutritious foods with long shelf-life. This study aims to analyze the perceptions of consumers in two Balkan countries towards frozen foods (FFs). The results show that Kosovo consumers generally have a more positive attitude towards FFs than Albanian consumers. Albanian consumers prefer fresh foods and express concern about the frozen chain conditions. Additional studies are needed to explore the impact of trust in food safety institutions on the development of FFs in these countries.

Summary: The study examines how perceived brand authenticity (PBA) influences consumer brand engagement (CBE), and how CBE affects brand usage intention (BUI) and willingness to pay a price premium (WPP). Results show that PBA positively influences CBE, which in turn impacts BUI and WPP. Self-congruence plays a moderating role in consumer groups, affecting brand identification and loyalty.

Summary: Organic farming affects the quality of Fino 49 lemons in Spain, with conventional farming leading to larger and elongated fruits and higher lightness in the lemon skin. Organic farming, on the other hand, results in a higher content of volatile compounds in the lemon juice, especially limonene, and greater acceptance by consumers.

Summary: This study examines the impact of food packaging cues on perceived product quality in the Pakistani consumer market, taking into consideration the moderating effect of consumer knowledge. The findings suggest that brand name, price, nutritional labels, and precautionary labels have a positive and significant relationship with perceived product quality, while the country of origin does not. Consumer knowledge moderates the relationships of brand name and country of origin with perceived product quality, but has no moderating effect on the relationships of price, nutritional labels, and precautionary labels with perceived product quality.

Summary: The study aimed to optimize the biodiesel synthesis process using bio-synthesized CaO catalytic material from chicken egg shells. Through microwave assistance, a 95% conversion rate of chicken feather oil to chicken feather meal methyl esters was achieved. Future research will focus on engine studies related to torque, fuel consumption, and emissions using the synthesized biodiesel.

Summary: The present study optimized the process of biodiesel production from Argemone mexicana oil using calcium oxide as a catalyst derived from chicken eggshells. The catalyst was characterized and the parameters were optimized through response surface methodology, resulting in a high yield of biodiesel. Non-statistical techniques were used to analyze the optimal values, and the obtained biodiesel was characterized using spectroscopic techniques.
