Summary: Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a major cause of sexual dysfunction, with a high prevalence rate of up to 89% in CVD patients. Pharmacotherapy is ineffective in reducing sexual problems, and sexual rehabilitation has been shown to have a broad therapeutic potential. This study indicates that sexual rehabilitation is an effective method for treating sexual dysfunction in CVD patients.

Summary: Cardiovascular disease is a common cause of sexual dysfunction, affecting up to 89% of patients. Ordinary treatments are not effective in relieving sexual problems, therefore sexual rehabilitation, including exercise therapy, counseling, and partner rehabilitation, is recommended. This study shows that sexual rehabilitation is effective for CVD patients with sexual dysfunction.

Summary: Erectile dysfunction is a common condition, mainly caused by vascular factors and endothelial dysfunction, which has a close connection with cardiovascular disease. Early detection of ED can help prevent cardiovascular risks. Therefore, patients presenting with ED should undergo cardiac assessment and treatment.

Summary: This study found that in patients with IBD, 61.9% of women reported SD and 43.5% of men reported ED, which are significantly higher than in healthy controls. The main factors associated with SD in women were anxiety and active perianal disease, while in men, age, depression, and active perianal disease were the main factors associated with ED.

Summary: Male sexual dysfunction is a common but often overlooked issue in diabetes care. This study aimed to assess the prevalence, associations, impact, and treatment-seeking behavior of male sexual dysfunction among men with diabetes. The results showed that the majority of men with sexual dysfunction did not disclose it to healthcare providers, and only a small number sought treatment. Additionally, several diabetes-related factors were found to be associated with erectile dysfunction.

Summary: This study investigated the mechanism underlying social stress-induced erectile dysfunction (ED) and evaluated the effects of ketamine on ED. Male mice were exposed to retired male mice for 4 weeks, and in the third week, they were injected with either saline or ketamine. Erectile function was assessed, and the results showed lower response in mice exposed to social stress. Contractility and relaxation of the corpus cavernosum were also affected in these mice. The findings suggest the limited efficacy of ketamine as a therapeutic intervention for social stress-related ED.

Summary: The study aimed to assess the associations between PBR, PBR-hf, and MVHS with cardio-renal risk factors in individuals with type 1 diabetes, as well as compare these dimensions with controls. Results showed that the endothelial glycocalyx dimension was impaired in individuals with T1D compared to controls, but there was no association with albuminuria levels or cardio-renal risk factors. The use of the GlycoCheck device may not contribute significantly to cardio-renal risk stratification in T1D.

Summary: A study found that male cannabis users are younger, have fewer comorbidities, and have better sexual performance compared to non-users. Cannabis use is associated with a more unstable relationship and a higher frequency of masturbation. Cannabis use may improve anthropometric and lipid profiles as well as penile arterial response in patients with sexual dysfunction.

Summary: This review evaluates the effects of new technology in the management of diabetes mellitus on sexual function. Sexual dysfunction is a underestimated complication of diabetes, especially in females. The use of new technologies in diabetes management can improve glycemic control and reduce complications, but its impact on sexual function is poorly understood.

Summary: This review explores possible therapeutic options for managing sexual dysfunction in people with multiple sclerosis (MS). A thorough search of the PubMed Medline database was conducted and 9 relevant records were identified. Pharmacological approaches investigated the effectiveness of sildenafil, tadalafil and onabotulinumtoxinA, while non-pharmacological interventions examined aquatic exercises, pelvic floor exercises, and the use of assistive devices, among others.

Summary: This study examines the development of professional identity and its impact on teaching practices and transformative learning among pre-service practitioners and research scholars. The research suggests that professional identity evolves during adolescence and remains steadfast in adulthood. Additionally, it presents an innovative example of using poetry as a dialogic process in teacher self-study to enhance teaching practices.

Summary: The study found a strong correlation between distress levels and problem counts in cancer patients. Problem count may be a more reliable indicator for psychosocial intervention than distress level alone. Factors such as cancer stage and number of treatment types can also be considered as relevant predictors for distress in clinical settings.
