We present a new measurement of the cosmic ray proton and helium spectra by the PAMELA experiment performed using the thin (in terms of nuclei interactions) sampling electromagnetic calorimeter. The described method, optimized by using Monte Carlo simulation, beam test and experimental data, allows the spectra to be measured up to 10 TeV, thus extending the PAMELA observational range based on the magnetic spectrometer measurement. Summary: The General Antiparticle Spectrometer (GAPS) is a balloon mission aimed at measuring low-energy cosmic-ray antinuclei. It will detect around 500 cosmic antiprotons per flight and produce a precise antiproton spectrum. This measurement will be sensitive to dark matter, primordial black holes, and cosmic ray propagation.

Summary: The EUSO@TurLab project aims to reproduce Earth UV emissions in a laboratory setting to validate satellite missions. Using the TurLab facility and simulations of detector responses, experiments have successfully replicated the spatial extension, time duration, and intensity of UV light emitted from Earth. This demonstrates the usefulness of TurLab in testing detector acquisition logic for present and future missions.

Summary: A Forbush decrease (FD) is a sudden drop in cosmic-ray intensity caused by the propagation of coronal mass ejection (CME) in interplanetary space. The variability in observed FDs is due to different physical properties of each CME. Studying both phenomena is necessary for understanding the processes involved in FDs. Most current studies rely on ground-based experimental data, while direct measurements in space are rare. This study used data from the spacecraft-borne experiment PAMELA to analyze FDs during the period 2006 - 2013, specifically focusing on significant events with amplitude >= 10% for the proton flux R = 1.1 - 2.9 GV. The recovery times of FD events generated by halo-type CMEs were determined based on particle rigidity.

Summary: Time-dependent energy spectra of galactic cosmic rays are heavily affected by the solar wind and the solar magnetic field, resulting in a phenomenon called solar modulation. This paper presents the first spectra of galactic protons measured by the HEPD-01 instrument on the CSES-01 satellite from 2018 to 2022, providing valuable information for understanding the propagation of cosmic rays in the heliosphere.

Summary: High-energy, long gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) can be exceptionally bright when they happen in the close-by universe, such as the recent GRB221009A with a redshift of 0.152. This event, observed by many gamma-ray space experiments, was accompanied by sudden electron flux changes measured by the HEPP-L charged particle detector on a satellite orbiting over Europe. The observed electron flux closely matched the time dependence of the photon flux associated with the main emission of the GRB.

Summary: We present the direct measurement results of the cosmic-ray helium spectrum using the CALET instrument on the International Space Station. The observation period is from October 13, 2015, to April 30, 2022. The measured spectrum shows evidence of a spectral hardening from a few hundred GeV to a few tens of TeV, consistent with previous space and balloon instruments' data. A softening of the helium spectrum is observed at higher energy levels around 30 TeV.

Summary: Transmission-based muography (TM) is an innovative imaging technique that uses cosmic ray muons to image inner-body density differences. It has been successfully applied in various research fields and this study aims to show its reliability for mining prospecting and related studies. By measuring the muon flux attenuation at the Temperino mine in Italy, a high-density vein within the skarn body was identified and visualized using a back-projection algorithm. The results highlight the potential of muography as a support tool for mining exploration.

Summary: By using a Lutetium Yttrium Oxyorthosilicate (LYSO) crystal as both a lutetium source and an active detector, researchers have successfully improved the 176Lu electron capture (EC) branching ratio limits. This approach led to an improvement of 3 to 30 times in the branching ratio limits, showing great potential as an isotopic clock.
