Launched from McMurdo (Antarctica) in December 2005, the balloon experiment CREAM (cosmic ray energetics and mass) collected about 15 million triggers during its second flight of 28 days. Redundant charge identification, by two pixelated silicon arrays and a time resolved pulse shaping technique from a scintillator system, allowed a clear signature of the primary nuclei. The energy was measured with a tungsten/SciFi calorimeter preceded by a graphite target. Preliminary results from the analysis of the data of the second flight are presented. Summary: The Radio Neutrino Observatory in Greenland (RNO-G) is searching for astrophysical neutrinos with energy > 10 PeV by detecting the radio emission from particle cascades in the ice. They present a simulation study showing how RNO-G can measure the energy of the cascades and estimate the energy of the incoming neutrino. The method uses differences in arrival times and electric field reconstruction to determine the neutrino interaction location and estimate the shower energy.

Growth, optical, and luminescence characterization of LiCsMoO4 crystal

Indra Raj Pandey, Sajid Khan, Arshad Khan, Y. D. Kim, H. J. Kim, Moo Hyun Lee

Summary: A crack-free LiCsMoO4 crystal with good optical properties and enhanced luminescence at low temperatures was grown using the conventional Czochralski technique. The decay time of the crystal was measured and fitted with three exponential functions. Thermoluminescence study revealed three peaks between 165 and 250 K, indicating the potential application of the crystal in the search for neutrinoless double-beta decay of Mo-100 at cryogenic temperatures.

Summary: This study presents a measurement of the energy spectrum of cosmic-ray nickel using the Calorimetric Electron Telescope (CALET) and compares it with the iron spectrum. The results provide valuable information for estimating the abundances at the cosmic ray source and modeling the Galactic propagation of heavy nuclei.

Summary: The CALorimetric Electron Telescope (CALET) on the International Space Station is an instrument for observing cosmic rays and gamma rays. It consists of a high-energy cosmic-ray CALorimeter (CAL) and a lower-energy CALET Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (CGBM). In our study, we searched for X-ray/gamma-ray counterparts to gravitational-wave events, but did not find any events that met all acceptance criteria.

Summary: In order to detect the highest-energy neutrinos, polar-sited experiments have used impulsive radio emission resulting from neutrino interactions. This study suggests that 'fake' neutrino signals can be generated naturally through the triboelectric effect, specifically from wind blowing over granular surfaces such as snow. By analyzing data from past and current neutrino experiments, evidence of these backgrounds is found, characterized by specific wind velocity, frequency spectra, and discharge preferences.

Summary: This study reports on the light collection of cryogenic calorimeters using different molybdate crystals as absorbers. The light signals from gamma rays and alpha particles are studied, and the light collection of the crystals is assessed by comparing the scintillation signals with known X-ray signals. The results show that the light measurement with LMO and NMO crystals is significantly lower compared to CMO, and the quenching factor for alpha particles is also different for different crystals.

Summary: In the context of the purification program of the AMoRE collaboration, the possibility of deep radiochemical purification of Li2CO3 was examined. Co-precipitation with inorganic salt-based carriers, membrane filtration, and sorption using MDM inorganic sorbent methods were tested and proved successful in removing various impurities. The study provides optimized conditions for high yield and radiopurity of lithium carbonate used for low-radioactive-background experiments with Li-containing detectors.

Summary: The AMoRE-Pilot experiment is the initial phase of the AMoRE search for neutrinoless double beta decay of Mo-100, aiming to investigate the level and sources of backgrounds. By studying background events through simulations and measurements, the contributions from radioactive contaminations internal to and on the surface of the crystals or nearby materials were determined.

Summary: We report on the search for weakly interacting massive particle (WIMP) dark matter candidates in the COSINE-100 experiment and discuss the potential improvements for the future COSINE-200 experiment in detecting low-mass WIMPs.
