Polystyrene-immobilized cationic gold catalysts 2a and 2b were synthesized for the first time and found to be highly effective catalysts for the bond-forming reactions via the activation of the C C triple bonds. The immobilized 2a was easily and quantitatively recovered from the reaction mixture and reused at least seven times while maintaining the original catalytic activity. Furthermore, a flow reactor containing 2a was developed for a larger scale continuous production.
