A direct amination of simple cycloalkanes with nitroarenes mediated by peroxides has been discovered. Various secondary arylamines were obtained efficiently from cycloalkanes. The reaction tolerates a wide range of functionalities as well as aqueous conditions. No metal was required for this novel amination reaction.
