Current-Induced Mass Transport in Filled Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes

Ask authors/readers for more resources

Tunable current-driven mass transport in Fe-and Fe(3)C-filled carbon nanotubes (CNTs) has been studied in situ using transmission electron microscopy. The filling material moves by an electromigrative and thermally activated interface diffusion mechanism resulting from the momentum transfer from electrons. The solid core of the filling material remains stationary.
