Summary: Threadfins, a group of fishes with elongated pectoral-fin rays, are commonly found in tropical and subtropical waters and are economically important in these regions. However, their evolutionary history and relationships have not been well-studied, hindering their conservation and management as an important food source. This study analyzed genomic and mitochondrial data to construct a phylogeny of the Polynemidae, identifying problematic sequences from previous studies and providing revised identifications based on new data. The findings highlight the relationships and potential misinterpretations of threadfins in previous studies, emphasizing the importance of accurate taxonomic information.

There were no differences in herbicide metabolism between HWM and EWM, suggesting that target-site resistance is the likely mechanism for 2,4-D resistance in HWM. Further research is needed to identify the molecular basis for this resistance trait.

Summary: Based on the generated database of biomass plots in Eurasia, statistically significant changes in forest stand biomass were found with shifts in temperature and precipitation. The study observed propeller-shaped biomass patterns in relation to average annual precipitation and January temperatures, which are common for both deciduous species. Furthermore, the study discovered a regularity in biomass components, where increased precipitation in cold zones led to an increase in biomass, while increased temperature in wet areas caused a decrease in biomass.

Summary: This study explores the impact of erroneous taxonomic attributions in GenBank accessions on the phylogenetic reconstruction of three-striped dasyures. It is found that outdated taxonomic attributions can lead to misleading phylogenetic inferences, and updating GenBank accessions can improve the accuracy of phylogenetic studies. Recommendations are made to update GenBank taxonomic attributions and flag accessions that may provide anomalous results.
