Summary: Heteroleptic Cu(I) complexes with 1,10-octachlorophenanthroline (OCP) were synthesized and characterized by XRD and TGA. The structures of the complexes showed non-covalent interactions of Cl···Br and Cl···I, which were identified as halogen bonding (XB) with energies up to 2.1 kcal/mol according to DFT calculations.

Summary: The crystal structure of C20H15MnN3O5 was determined. It belongs to the monoclinic system with lattice parameters of a = 10.0223 Å, b = 9.3406 Å, c = 18.6978 Å, and β = 99.322 degrees. The crystal has a volume of 1727.27 Å^3 and contains four molecules within the unit cell. The refined values of R ( gt )(F) and wR ( ref )(F (2)) were found to be 0.0376 and 0.0873, respectively. The crystal structure of C20H15MnN3O5 was determined at a temperature of 250 K.

Summary: This report presents highly cytotoxic Re(I) carbonyl complexes with low nanomolar activity against prostate cancer cells, highlighting the potential of using rhenium in cancer treatment. Eight aqua complexes with a general formula of fac-[Re(CO)(3)(N,N'-bid)(H2O)][NO3] were synthesized and characterized. The cytotoxicity of these complexes was evaluated on prostate cancer cells, with three complexes showing very low cytotoxic activity and selectivity over normal cells. Further experiments revealed the mitochondrial and nuclear localization of the most selective complexes, as well as their impact on mitochondrial dysfunction and ATP production in cancer cells.

Summary: The molecular and crystal structures of [Cu2I2(C18H12N2)(2)] were investigated using single-crystal X-ray diffraction and Hirshfeld surface analysis. The copper atom is coordinated in a distorted tetrahedral geometry by two nitrogen atoms from the 2,2'-biquinoline ligands and two bridging iodide ligands. The molecules are connected through pi-pi stacking interactions. Hirshfeld surface analysis revealed that the most significant contributions to the intermolecular interactions are H center dot center dot center dot H (39.7%), H center dot center dot center dot I/I center dot center dot center dot H (17.8%), C center dot center dot center dot H/H center dot center dot center dot C (17.5%), C center dot center dot center dot C (16.5%), N center dot center dot center dot C/C center dot center dot center dot N (3.9%), and N center dot center dot center dot H/H center dot center dot center dot N (3.5%).

The absorption and emission spectra exhibited a blue-shift sequence with increasing P-Cu-P angle, and the abnormal PL emission blue-shift from 1 to 2 was attributed to steric hindrance and strong intra-molecular pi-pi stacking interactions.

Summary: In this study, a heteroleptic cuprous complex with an anionic hexafluoridophosphate was synthesized and showed excellent luminescence and low cost, making it significant for applications in display devices. Time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) calculations revealed that the UV-Vis absorption of the complex was attributed to ligand-to-ligand charge transfer (LLCT) excited states. Furthermore, the paper-based film of the complex exhibited noticeable luminescence sensing for pyridine.
