Summary: This study explores the generation of free-standing thin films at the liquid|liquid interface and demonstrates that films produced at higher pH values are more robust. The liquid|solid|liquid interface at the liquid|liquid interface requires the addition of a second capacitator element to mimic the generation of a porous film. These findings suggest the importance of alkaline conditions in promoting the coupling reaction of monomers.

Summary: We present a new and facile method for fabricating an electrochemical DNA biosensor using a DNA/AuPt/p-L-Met coating on a screen-printed carbon electrode (SPE) and demonstrate its application in the detection of cancer therapy agents, Imatinib and Erlotinib. Poly-L-methionine (p-L-Met), gold, and platinum nanoparticles (AuPt) were electrodeposited onto the SPE in one step using a solution containing L-Met, HAuCl4, and H2PtCl6. DNA immobilization was achieved through drop-casting on the modified electrode surface. Various characterization techniques were employed to investigate the sensor's morphology, structure, and electrochemical performance. The optimized biosensor exhibited excellent sensitivity and selectivity for quantifying Imatinib and Erlotinib in human serum and pharmaceutical samples, with low LODs of 0.18 nM and 0.009 nM, respectively.

Summary: Novel ternary composites of PANI, RGO, and CNFs were prepared for hybrid supercapacitors. The presence of RGO and CNFs improved the electrochemical performances of the composites. The composite of CNFs/RGO/PANI with a weight ratio of 4/16/80 showed the highest specific capacitance and retained 85.4% of its initial capacitance after 1000 cycles of charge and discharge.

Summary: A selective and sensitive electrochemical sensor based on reduced graphene oxide, gold nanoparticles, and molecularly imprinted poly 2-aminophenol was developed for the determination of flutamide in environmental and biological samples. Characterization of the composite material showed successful polymerization of molecularly imprinted poly 2-aminophenol, leading to high selectivity towards flutamide. The prepared sensor demonstrated good agreement with HPLC methods and can be used as a reliable alternative for flutamide analysis.

Summary: Three-dimensional microflowers of 8-cyclodextrin (8-CD) polymer were synthesized by electro-polymerization on a glassy carbon electrode modified with multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) nanocomposite. The 8-CD/MWCNTs/rGO nanocomposite showed promising electrochemical catalytic activity and peak potential separation for simultaneous determination of gallic acid (GA) and protocatechuic acid (PA). The nanocomposite electrode exhibited high sensitivity and long-term stability, enabling robust functionality for simultaneous determination of GA and PA in mango fruit.

Summary: Oil spills pose serious threats to the marine ecosystem, particularly when faced with extreme weather conditions. This study presents a novel method using dynamic Bayesian networks (DBNs) to quantify the risk of oil spills in extreme winds. By transforming physical models into DBNs and establishing a vulnerability model based on coastline types and socio-economic resources, the overall DBN for quantifying the dynamic risk of oil spills in extreme winds is obtained. The proposed method is demonstrated in the Laizhou Bay and validated using a three-axiom-based approach to calculate the temporal and spatial dynamics of risk caused by oil spills in potential locations. The study also examines the risk of the Laizhou Bay coast caused by oil spills in annual extreme wind speeds corresponding to different mean recurrence intervals and investigates the effects of the occurrence time of annual extreme winds.
