The C-60-gold nanoparticle hybrid films prepared by the in situ cross-linking assembly have smoother and more featureless surfaces than the films generated by the layer-by-layer assembly. The electrical properties of these novel nanostructures are also strongly dependent upon the film assembly methods. The hybrid films prepared by the in situ cross-linking assembly are found to be very sensitive to UV illumination. The films responded with a decrease in the current upon exposure, Followed by a recovery of the current upon removal of the UV lights.
