Summary: Exposure to patients with COVID-19 is significantly associated with higher burnout rates in physician trainees, with those caring for more patients being more likely to report limited access to PPE and COVID-19 testing as well as testing positive for COVID-19. Trainees who cared for a greater number of patients were increasingly more likely to experience burnout, regardless of the number of patients they cared for.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate whether having a female surgical role model influences women in Saudi Arabia to pursue a surgical career. The findings showed that female respondents who had a role model perceived a positive influence on their career choice. Clinical and operation skills were considered the most remarkable factors in a role model. Working directly with a male surgical consultant and female surgical residents had a positive influence on career choice, although it was not statistically significant.

Summary: Based on a survey of 4,462 undergraduate students in Zhejiang Province, mainland China, this study explores the influence of parenting styles on emotion regulation and the mediating role of student-faculty interaction. The study reveals that male students score significantly higher than female students in emotion regulation, overprotective parenting styles, and student-faculty interaction. It also indicates that warm parenting styles have a greater direct positive effect on emotion regulation compared to overprotective parenting styles, with the mediating effect of student-faculty interaction being significant.

The results show that internet use significantly enhances residents' happiness, even after accounting for endogeneity. The mediating effects of social interaction frequency and socioeconomic status are found, suggesting that increasing internet use can improve residents' happiness by increasing social interaction and enhancing their SES.

An electronic survey was conducted to assess trainee perceptions and experiences related to COVID-19. The results show that the pandemic has led to a significant decrease in specimen volume, a shift to virtual platforms for educational activities, and compromised resident education.

Suggestions for future directions include strengthening collaborations with advanced degree programs, establishing mentorship channels, and promoting research on knowledge translation.
