Summary: The Chagos Archipelago is a remote atoll in the Indian Ocean with significant international conservation significance. The population of holothurians, a major resource and indicator of reef health, has declined at Diego Garcia but recovered at Salomon and Peros Banhos, and remained stable at the Great Chagos Bank. Illegal fishing has decreased since 2005/2006, leading to the possible recovery or stabilization of holothurian populations in the outer atolls.

Summary: In this study, a model of the Late Jurassic rift physiography of the Froan Basin and Froya High is presented based on seismic reflection, well data, and reverse subsidence modelling. The results show that major footwall uplift during the Late Jurassic to Early Cretaceous caused the Froya High and the western margin of the central Froan Basin to be subaerially exposed, forming an intra-rift footwall island. Shallow marine areas to the east accumulated sediment supplied from the uplifted and partially eroded footwall, while the Trondelag Platform remained submerged throughout the rift episode.

Summary: Contourites are increasingly recognized in ancient fine-grained depositional environments. This study focuses on the Upper Jurassic-Lower Cretaceous Vaca Muerta Formation from Argentina and identifies four ichnofabrics in three facies associations. The study reveals that benthic activity in these deposits was controlled by food distribution, oxygenation, hydrodynamic energy, and water turbidity.

Summary: The Maloy Slope in South Norway has been a key area for studying the connection between onshore and offshore geology since the Permian period. It has experienced bypass, erosion, and deposition processes between the Norwegian mainland source area and the offshore northern North Sea sink area. The slope was faulted during large-scale extension and rapid rift basin subsidence in the Late Jurassic and Early Cretaceous, forming a network of E-W-oriented erosional submarine canyons that cut deep into the crystalline bedrock.
