Summary: Six Sigma is a systematic and structured methodology for quality improvement, widely used by large and small firms in industrialized economies. However, its implementation in developing economies' Micro Small Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is limited due to various barriers. This paper presents a framework incorporating Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) tool for Six Sigma implementation in an MSME organization. The results show that despite limited resources, incorporating MCDM in Six Sigma significantly improves the firm's sigma level.

Summary: This study investigated the barriers and enablers in the implementation process of the National Chest Pain Centers Program (NCPCP) in China. The barriers mainly included the complexity of the intervention, low flexibility of requirements, and a lack of recognition of chest pain in patients with acute coronary syndromes (ACS). The enablers of intervention implementation included inner motivation for change, evidence strength and quality of intervention, and involvement of hospital leaders.

Summary: Digital twin (DT) and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies are essential for achieving sustainable resilient manufacturing in Industry 4.0. A novel modeling framework is proposed in this article to address the limitations of digital twins at the shopfloor level. The framework integrates AI techniques and machine tool expertise using aggregated data, contextualizes metadata sources from different stages of production, and incorporates prior knowledge to enhance modeling reliability in dynamic industrial circumstances. A hybrid learning-based digital twin is developed and tested, which enables learning uncertainties in real industrial environments and improves modeling reliability based on data quality and accessibility.

Summary: The rapid increase in hazardous waste due to China's economic growth has made it crucial to manage its safety. However, information asymmetry between regulators and regulated institutions has led to problems like illegal dumping and statistical fraud in hazardous waste transfer activities. There is also an issue of information isolation among waste production, transportation, and treatment companies in the market. Implementing blockchain technology can help overcome these challenges, improve efficiency, and enable effective information monitoring and tracking.

Summary: Teaching quality improvement (QI) skills to surgeons and surgical residents typically involves a combination of QI techniques such as QI models, process mapping, and lean principles, paired with didactic teaching and practical project delivery. However, there is poor reporting on the implementation of QI training, methodological weaknesses, and lack of clarity on underlying frameworks, environmental descriptions, content, and conclusions. Conducting larger-scale educational QI studies across multiple institutions can help advance the field and clarify the true impact of QI training.
